SFDL Tip!

When i went to SFDL last week someone told me to flash your "foreign" SF season pass and they will let you park for free! It is a great way to start off your day and a nice thing the park does for out of towners, so just do this. When you pull up to the booth ask, "Is my SF-XZXZ pass good here?" make sure to have your pass ready because they ask to see it. DOes this work at every SF park or just SFDL?

yes it works at every six flags except the water parks that you must pay extra to enter
? i know that your pass works at every SF park but what i mean is you just say that so the person doesnt know that youll be able to park for free. Since youve only been to 3 SF parks im guessing you mean you get in free, not park for free

your one lucky person, we tryed to get in SFWOA for free (parking) and had no luck (after 12 min. of trying :-P)...

... Although it is not required to do so, some parks/people are happy enough to do it for you... I know SFDL is usually pretty linient on the parking policy.

Linient? More like just plain stupid!!

I save all the little colored tickets they give me whenever I goto Darien Lake...

...so now when I go, I usually go about an hour or so after they open, and try to look at the car ahead of me to see what colored ticket they are handing out that day. What I do is then just go through my collection and pop out that colored ticket, and say "I was here just a little bit ago, here's my ticket" and they let me through!!

It works quite often, as long as you go an hour or so after they open!!

Other than that... I never knew any other park to give you free parking because you have a Season Pass from some other Six Flags park... unless the parking was free anyway (a la: Great Escape)

wow, thanks for the idea dawg byte! Ill be sure to try that next year when I will collect all the colors :P
Dawg Byte, it is wrong to do that. I don't know how many times it's been said that this site isn't a place to tell people how to steal, but you just did. The park has parking fees for a reason. Bring in money. Your stealing the parks money by not paying it.

Hey, SFGAm managment, can I buy a couple cages of Sky Whirl?
TrBiggar... $7.00 for parking may not seem like much to some people... but when you go EVERY weekend for like 10 weekends in a row, that's 70 bucks you just wasted just to park your car.

The car is not guaranteed to be there when you get back, it's not protected against theft, scratches, bumps, and bruises... my new car got a nice little door dent from some idiot next to me in a white car. I was able to rub out the paint from their car, but there's a minute dent there now that I will never get out, thanks to SFDL's wonderful parking! (believe me, I try to park with a lotta space between me&the other drivers).

Anyway, the point is... the park has no special deal on parking, like a book of 5 or even a season parking pass, so I got to cut corners. Cheating the system is the only way.

Put it this way. The 7 beans that I save in parking will be used in the park regardless... either for a souvineer photo, or park food. If I had to fork over the seven dollars, then I will be more stingy and just bring my lunch!!

I think if other parks can let you park for free... why not them??
It's not stealing... it's just working around the "system". :)

Like a book of 5 parking tickets at half price? Actually they have had that for the past 4 or 5 years now, [even before being a SF park] and still do...

Dawg

I do the same thing, although it does'nt work at SFWOA what they do is but a ink mark on the back of the ticket and you don't know what color they're using when you get up to the ticket booth so what I've done is just got some parking tickets for $20 (you get (5) and use those when I go, but at SFDL I do just what you said
SFDL Dude,

They don't offer a book of 5 parking tickets. I inquired at the local Tops Markets where they sell season passes, day passes, and used to be parking books... they said that they do not sell them.

Unless you can get them at the park directly... I think this year they don't have them. It just makes no sense that SFDL doesn't offer a season parking pass... it kind of makes a regular season pass not such a great deal. Sure, 7 bucks to get in... but well... it SHOULD be free (well, the initial fee for the pass excluded), shouldn't it?

Once again, yes they do offer them, in fact, you can buy them right at the parking booth (I have gone through 10 already.. don't tell me they don't :)).. you can not buy them at Tops, however. You can get them at the parking booth themselves, or go to Customer Service and buy them there... either way there is no reason Season Pass holders have to pay more than $3.50 to park... I agree, they should have a parking pass, though.
