SFDL side trip

Anyone in the Buffalo area. Can you tell me the name and location of the bar that was the originator of Buffalo wings? I am heading up there this weekend and would like to stop there sometime in my travels.

hey, im from buffalo... I'm not sure which company exactly founded buffalo wings, but i know a couple that have made it popular- Duff's and Anchor Bar. I guess the places that i would suggest to you for the best buffalo wings in the world are Buffalo Wild Wings- 15 different levels of hot sauce, Duff's, also super hot, and Anchor Bar- famous for their grilled wings. Those are the best places. if you go into downtown, you can also find some great places. Ah- just to warn ya, these hot sauces are seriously hottt, and don't give it to any kids. The hottness could last over an hour, and burn your mouth. The hottest sauces are usually made with the 3 hottest pepers - Habanaro pepers (hottest in world), Jalepenio, and some other one in between. Enjoy the city and make sure ya check out SFDL- it's a great growing park!

Now that ya'll got a history on my Buffalo Wings!

Stay away from Buffalo Wild Wings... the huge variety of sauces are good, but definitly not 'true' buffalo wings....

The Anchor Bar is the original place and famous for theirs.
http://www.anchorbar.com I've never had them personally. As Andy said, Duff's have nice and crispy wings [buffalo = fat!] although they are on the small side. There is another bar called rooties, although not as famous, and its kind of a dump joint, they have hella good wings, and they are huge. They also have cajun ones which are worth a try.

(Try to) Enjoy your stay in Buffalo!

BW-3 started in Columbus, for cryin out loud.

Doesn't it seem as though morons always have the caps lock on?
I like BW3 but I agree that they are nothing close to real Buffalo Wings. I'm happy we got one in Rochester and I eat there lots on $.30 wing night and $.50 leg night! :) I also ate at the Sandusky one once or twice this summer. Good wings, yes. Buffalo wings, no.
