I don't know if anyone who visits SFDL gets it or not...
BUT...
SFDL has closed down Cascade Canyon water slides because it will cost a little to fix them. It isn't because they don't have the money to fix them. C'mon, they're a major theme park part of the Six Flags chain.
The reason they are not fixing them is simple... Why Bother??. If they are rumored for the waterpark expansion (which was supposed to be on the 2001 agenda, mind you), then they were to dismantle them anyway.
Their plans are to NOT remove the Cascade Canyon and other slides to put a lazy river there...
That's kind of stupid. They want to keep the entire waterpark on ONE side of the park. Why cross over to the other side for a stupid lazy river... that isn't so lazy now, is it?
What they planned on doing is taking any attractions left on the original side of the waterpark (ie: Cuda Falls, but not Floodgate Falls), and move it to the side with Hooks Lagoon & Crocadile Isle. From there, they can work into Elk Lake and build a decent set of new water attractions.
This INCLUDES:
- A Lazy River
- A Super Saturator Water Coaster
- Cuda Falls Relocated
- Set of New Waterslides
- Wet/Dry Slides
- New Tube Slides
I am not saying this is going to be... I am saying this is what they could add.
Remember, they got a lot of room there. They got all the way up to the helix of the Superman, and who's to say that Elk Lake has to stay that big the whole time? Drain that sucker out and call it Elk Pond!!! It's a lotta room, and can make for a great water-park expansion :).
