How has anyone elses experiences been with doing both parks the same day? We are not neccesarily interested in hitting all the coasters.

Sunday October 5, PCW is open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and if the weather is nice the park WILL be busy. This past weekend Wonderland was packed on both days. MAJOR Crowds. Personally I think you would be wasting your time if you only have a couple of hours at Wonderland. Unlike SFDL all rides at Wonderland should be in operation.

Now, doing both parks is probably a big chore, especially this time of year... I don't see how you can do it since most parks won't open until either later, or will wind up closing early. In SFDL's case, the park will be closing early around 8pm, but opening the same (vice versa come Fright Fest). I would give this park around 3 to 4hrs to hit everything.
As for Canada's Wonderland... if you've never done the park, you've honestly got to give it at LEAST an entire day. The park is quite large, and there is a lot to do... I mean, c'mon... 12 coasters & the best collection of flats in the world? It's not something you can easily accomplish unless you 1) have a plan of action & 2) are only planning on hitting the good stuff.
FINALLY... I am fimilar with Toronto traffic... and there's only 3 words for it... worst...traffic... ever!
Even during non-rush hours, their highways can slow down to a crawl once you reach Toronto... if you've hit Toronto city limits, what would normally be maybe a 10 minute drive until you reach PCW, will turn into probably a 30 minute drive, unless you get really lucky.
I woudl be coming back home acroos Ontario so going back into the US is no problem. I have done this countless times in Detroit, Port Huron, and Saul Ste. Marie.
