Well, I went to SFDL for the second time. (I went once last year). Rode S:ROS first, and rode in the very back. The ride was absolutely incredible in the back, with the train whipping you over each hill. When I rode it last year, I thought it was good, but not that good...now it moves to my number 2 spot...behind MF. There were a few spots that were better than parts of MF, but the overall ride just doesn't give me that 'holy crap' feeling MF gave me through every second of the ride. What it DID do was wish I'd ridden MF in the back seat. Anyway, I ended up riding Superman 3 times, twice in the back, once in the middle, and the middle seat is not NEARLY as good as the back. Basically, I figured that if you took MF, and added the 3 final hops that S:ROS has before the final overbank, you'd have the perfect coaster. :) Overall a very good ride.
Went on Predator next, which I didn't mind last year. This year, I was in pain from the moment the train left the station. Every drop ratcheted my spine like bricks hammering it. It was horrible. I was hurting all over walking off that ride. Ouch. It was Mean Streak x 10.
Rode Viper twice next, which wouldn't be a bad ride if the trains weren't so damn uncomfortable. That pad right in the middle of your back is not pleasant.
Mind Eraser is ok, with great leg choppers, but that's about all. No real speed or real "wow" moments. That's about all I did...just stayed for 4 hours. Got in my 3 superman rides and was happy. Oh...rode the new Twister, which is a gravitron type thing...love those, it was running a seriously intense program. I rode the one at SFO, but this program was much better than that one.
Jman
I was there yesterday too. I only stopped by for 2 hours because I was on my way back to Detroit from Syracuse (the fair was awful, I didn't go on anything, I remember it being so much better). I rode Superman in the very front, it was incredible. Ejector air all the way over the third hill. I think they made Millennium Force's third hill way too big, I like Superman's better.
Where did you ride Predator? I rode in the front and it was very smooth, I got a float on every hill. The op gave me tons of room.
And thats all I went on, been on everthing else in past years.
I know exactly what you mean about Predator and Viper!!! i rode them on saturday... the only excuse I can make for them is that they're old, and Viper's by Arrow, Predator has trailered trains instead of articulated. I don't know what that means but i've heard people say that's why it was so rough. they should get new trains...
