SFA's Penguins Blizzard River Spinning Madness

Associated parks:
None

I had the opportunity to ride SFA's new ride Penguins Blizzard River tonite,
and will tell you what...... Its the wackiest spinningest water ride you'll
ever ride, imagine the best spin you can get on a tilt a whirl, and place that
in a downward coil of wet, wild, madness!

This ride is gonna be very popular!

never met a coaster I didn't ride (except Junior Geminii) :(

Excellent! Thanks to having to fly Government rates, I'll be landing at DCA in midafternoon on Memorial Day for a Tuesday meeting. Lots of time to kill, and one more reason to kill it at SFA. :)

I think this will be a nice change of pace from all the extreme rides that have been added since the Six Flags changeover.

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
Good luck with the weather on tuesday,I hear we might be getting a breif respite from all this dang rain on sunday & perhaps even a bit on monday but by tuesday it's back to the same ole same ole,yup you guessed it more rain! (like we need any more ).

I was at SFA last saturday & saw PBR testing & it looks to be a fun ride, ome in which I hope to have the pleasure of riding in june. (remember me Sam? I was the one talkin to you by PBR wearing the leather jacket last saturday).

Well, I'm hoping to escape. The meeting itself is an all day affair on Tuesday @ NSF. I'm looking to kill Monday afternoon at the park. If it rains, I'll probably head to the in-laws instead for Memorial Day Fun.

The colors of that ride REALLY throw me off, horrible color selection IMO.

"You know its a good ride when you come into the final break run wiping tears from your eyes"-me

We have those bigger, badder and meaner in Europe :p
El Dorado at Hansa-Park for example, or l'Oxygénarium at Parc Astérix.

They rule ! Very good family rides, with very desorientating spinning !

Roarrrr...

Yeah the color scheme stinks but from what I saw last weekend the ride itself & some of the landscaping will more than make up for it.
Just got back from my first ride on Penguin's Blizzard River. One word summary, I'm still dizzy but I stay that way.

The best part about the ride was riding with a 5 year old little girl. One the way up the lift I asked what her favorite ride was and she replied the balls in Looney Tunes Movie Towne. At the end of the ride she said her favorite was now Penguin's Blizzard River. So take the advice of a 5 year old and go ride this ride!!! I can't imagine what this ride is going to be like in the dark.

They still have a couple of kinks to work out, like the Penguin's are not timed to blow water precisely, and some of the water sprays at the end of the water slide were not working but all in all, the ride is themed well and the landscaping is GREAT! With one notable exception, I couldn't help noticing the picture of the Penguin at the entrance to the ride had a pole sticking out of his {fill in the blank}. The themeing is pretty good as well. I don't know why SFA seems content on going back repeatedly to it's days as a regional amusement park. I noticed on the chalk board in the Penguin's Fish Factory {also known as the station} they make reference to a delivery to SFA/AW/WW. I felt really old when I explained to the young man behind me and his friends what WW stood for "Six Flags America/Adventure World/Wild World". *** Edit *** I also thought the automation of the ride was pretty neat. Everything pretty much ran on sensors.

Saw the new Cirq Du Six Flags show today as well. It was pretty good. If you have a chance to see it I would take the time.

One last thing, There is a new ice cream vendor at the park that keeps peddling the new home made ice cream. Give it a try, it's pretty good. I do wish they wold bring back Uncle Teddy's Pretzel though.
