SFA 7/1/03 - Two Face...It Was Almost Me

Associated parks:
None

Well, this isn't much of a trip report, but I'm sure you all will know soon about Two-Face being stuck on the lift hill stranded riders for over 2 and a half hours. Well me and my brother get in line for Two-Face. We complain about how long the line is, and how slow the stupid Six Flags ride attendents are so slow. Restraints unlocked....restrainsts locked...restraints unlocked...all that crap, finally the ride gets going and moves up the lift. It's up there, but it nevercomes down.

Were sorry ladies and gentlemen says the ride operator....but Two Face is experiencing a minor technical delay, you may exit the line if you wish, or stay in ine until the ride resumes operation, so me and my brother wait for 20 minutes and watch the horror that was about to unfold. Well, after that we give up and know that they weren't going to be let down for awhile...well eventually 4 news holicopters were flying around, this was bigger then I thought it would be.

We go up the lift hill on Batwing, which I also may add had breakdowns all day, and we see Two Face still stuck. When we got off, the train on Two Face was gone, so it appeared they finally let them down. But from my estimate, me and my brother were only 3 or 4 trains away from it being us. Kinda scary, but at the same time, I work the graveyard shift, so I was dead tired all day at the park, so if I was stuck, I would have taken a nice little nap...lol. So thats the scoop on Two Face from someone who was right there when it happen.

Ok embedded reporter. I'm not sure that getting stuck on a ride for 2 1/2 hours quite qualifies as "horror". I would call it very inconvenient. I got to watch the train get lowered back into the station on MSNBC live. Big whoop. The crawler on one of the cable news networks says that the ride is operational again. I thought the evacuation of Iron Eagle last week was far more exciting, and there were no helicopters.

Well I am glad to know that the Drama is finally over.

MSNBC reported there was more than one train on this coaster, did you see what happened to the other train? ;)

I love watching these things unfold on TV!

It is sort of fun to pop a bag of popcorn, sit next to the TV, and flip through the cable news channels waiting for the next informed broadcaster to say something that sounds completely stupid.

For example, for Lester Holt (whom was respected (and not that he shouldn't be any longer), to the best of my knowledge, when he was here in Chicago) to say that this was an unfolding drama was sort of blowing things up a bit.

Hearing them consult Six Flags' website also provided a guffaw.

But honestly, having been on Vekoma boomerangs, inverted boomerangs, and Deja Vu, I can say that it would not have been very comfortable for the people facing downward. In fact, both have their disadvantages.

If you faced upward, you'd look into the sun on a very hot day, but if you faced downward, you'd be falling into that harness. For two hours, (two bathroomless hours, let me add) I'd say that it would be a little more than a slight inconvenience, but certainly not something that we have to be alerted to.

But, again, I find it entertaining.

Being stuck in the face down position for two hours would get old, but being stuck and having to PEE, that would be worse.

Vater, when I was there on the 14th IE was stuck but no one was on board at the time.

As for Two face I had a bad premanition about the ride back on the 14th which is why I didn't ride it back then, after yesterday's situation I'm not so sure I'll be willing to get back on it anytime soon.

My decision not to ride it on the14th was based on the fact that it vallied twice during morning test runs earlier in the week & you gotta wonder how those newschoppers got there so fast, were they tipped off by someone in the park,or were they on "routine patrol looking for news" when they came upon the situation while flying over the park?

Still worse, being face-up underneath someone you know has to pee.

I was watching our local FOX affiliate and they said that the coaster was stuck upside down. That was funny considering they were showing the ride at the time and it was PLAINLY obvious to anyone (enthusiast, non-enthusiast, my 11 year old niece) that they werent.

Or worse being face up underneath someone that's about to have a bad case of the runs,if you know what I mean.

This incident would make a great Immodium AD commercial. "Where will you be when your diarrhea comes back?"
Nahh,I prefer the one with the guy in the pool with the two hot chicks when he gets a case of the runs.

If you've seen that commercial you gotta love the shot of the guy waddling his way out of the water before he backfires.

They all use police scanners, heard the call for the fire department and News Chopper 5 headed over.

Yeah that's what I figured myself, although chopper4 was actually first on the scene.
To everybody that made fun of my story.....GO "F" YOURSELVES ;)
^ You brought up a nearly one year old thread just to tell everyone to do that?

It sounds like someone has way too much time on their hands if you ask me.

I got stuck on it last year for 45 mins. Its scarey going through the station and hte lift chain not catching then going half way into the boomerang then stoping!!

Thanks,
DMC
