SFA 4/9 The day without the miserable weather

Associated parks:
None

What with the way they ran rodeo last time I was on it you certainly don't need reverse operation on that thing...two full cycles running forward was more than enough.
4/14/06 Exceptional Day, Light Crowd due to Local Weather Threat

12:30 - 6:30 pm

Hightlights

All Coasters ran 1 train except Wild One. Mind Eraser Yellow train is in rehab (some shells to the cars were off).

Papa Johns food is (edible) good.

I witnessed Terry Pranther walking around the park (didn't get a chance to talk to him).

Avanlanche is still the ONLY ride closed in the park.

Employees are still friendly and promoting the 45 Anniversary very well. Park very clean!

Looney Tunes and Justice League are everywhere (you can't miss them). I still have yet to see The Flash, Babs Bunny, Peppy Le Pew, Porky Pig, etc.

Six Flags 45 Parade is very good, a bit short IMO, but it serves its purpose.

One of the cars is still down on Tower of Doom.

Overall A! Hope they keep this up......

I think asked this question once and I was told Avalanche has never ran backwards.

BFan is right. PPE now Avalanche has ran backwards before. I've witnessed it, and even rode it. It's way more thrilling in reverse.

I don't know ALL the Facts!!!!!!

I saw the Flash ONCE on the Sunday after opening day and have yet to see him since, I wonder if something happened to the costume, or if they just can't get anyone to fill it. As for the othe r characters, the reason you haven't seen them is because the costumes haven't come in yet. When they do, it will about double the parks collection of characters, new characters coming in include: Granny, Peppy Le Pew, K-9 (Marvin the Martian's dog), Petunia (Porky's girlfriend), and Yosamity Sam among others... the park used to have a Porky costume, but I haven't seen him out yet.. maybe they're ordering a new costume for that one.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

I was at the park yesterday as well, first time I think I've ever seen TSC open before 11:30.

A day at the park is what you make it!

Going next week & I hope they have ME's yellow train up & running by then.

first time I think I've ever seen TSC open before 11:30.

I don't know if I've read of it being open before July! ;)

Lol! Props on that one. You might be right but I think it was open in May/June last season. They're working really hard on it. They have six boats on it now and have a goal of a couple of more in the next month or so.

A day at the park is what you make it!

So, all I seem to be hearing is reasonably postive trip reports. I've been to the park three times this year and have loved it. But I must know, what do you all think have been the biggest improvements that MUST be kept at their current levels or better throughout the summer, and what do you think still needs work?

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

Wierd, I was there on the 12th and both the Mind Eraser Trains were on the track.

He's right, I was there on Friday and one of the trains was off the track.

A day at the park is what you make it!

Well, then some time between Wed. and Thurs. they took one of the ME trains off. Because I rode the Orange one I remember and while I was loading, I remember seeing the other woosh past the station into the Sidewinder.
They just better have the yellow one on line by next week or I'm not going anywhere near that thing...assuming the weather co-operates that is.

I looked at the 7 day forecast last night on all the local channels & like clockwork they're calling for rain all day on saturday the 22nd,granted anything can change within the next 6 days but odds are high that we're in this weather pattern where it'll be clear midweek & then rain on the weekend.

When I rode it on Wednesday, it was a complete walk on. Almost all the rides had less then a 10 minute wait. Except JJ.

Oh btw, Mind Eraser hurts more than ever this season. I seriously couldn't remember what the heck happened during the ride, just I had a HUGE headache after.

I hate to speculate, but I wasn't liking what I was seeing today.

I rode JJ, Wild One and Superman today. The only crew that seemed to be doing a "decent" job was JJ.

The Wild West Stunt Show was much better last weekend.

The Looney Tunes were having more fun last weekend.

The streetmosphere lacked quite a bit of punch today without the music.

The park wasn't as clean as it was last weekend.

ALSO, Don't drop a quarter in the water canons by RR. They aren't working and it seems complaints about them not working are falling on deaf ears and the park seems to be more than happy to take your money. There isn't a sign saying they are not working anywhere. Even if they were working there isn't a place inside the park that can give you change for a $1.00.

I hope the enthusiasm picks up again next weekend and this was just a Easter Sunday fluke.

On the plus side, TSC is running really well. They have six boats running and it's been opening before noon each day. *** Edited 4/16/2006 8:44:59 PM UTC by coasterguts***

I believe Rodeo ran backwards once as well, but they have since stopped that as well...

I'm pretty sure I addressed this before, but Breakdances aren't capable of going backwards according to the Tech specs.
