I am planning on going to Six Flags America before the summer is over. Can someone who has been there tell me what it is like? What rides should I ride and whats the best coaster there?
Go mid week so the lines will be shorter. The lines will be short but the wait will be long since the staff would rather talk than dispatch trains. The coasters are good. Two Faced is an Invertigo so ride that early so the lines will be shortest. Mind Eraser is a SLC so you probably rode it somewhere else. Wild One is a pretty good out and back with a great helix and air. Roar is a GCI twister. A very good ride. Jokers Junk I mean Jinx is an Outer Limits outside prepare for the headbanging. Superman is a good ride as well. I prefer the one at SFNE but SFA's is still good. The lines will probably be the longest for this. The last two time I was there most of the flat rides were closed so ride whats open. SFA is one of the smallest parks i've been to. They have a 6 coasters but they are all close together except Mind Eraser thats past Roar in the western area. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give SFA about a 3.

I agree with coasterpunk, especially on Joker's HEADbanger, one of the greatest looking coasters, a real KNOCKOUT. Usually ride 1 time, totally fascinated with the elements and the visual, then HEAD to a different coaster that isn't quite abusive.
I rate the park more like a 5-6, because it is a nice layout with some other fascinating rides. Love ROAR and Wild One. Was there to early in the season to ride S:ROS, but Darien Lake is great, and SFNE even better.
(all are worth the trip)
If you get a chance and you like flume type rides, go on Typhoon the Sea Coaster (near ROAR)
I also like the rides being somewhat close together.

I agree with Coasterpunk on all his assessments but would give the park a 5 (maybe cause I always root for the underdog). And it was my first S:ROS (on opening weekend) and the ride blew me away! Since riding all 3 I would give SFNE the edge, but as far seeing the Park, I had a great day there, short lines and fun coasters. (Just watch that sneaky Joker!)

I havent personally been on Superman(it was closed when I went) but i hav heard you can see the Washington Monument from the top of the lift. Is that true?
I never looked actually. But the land is fairly flat so I guess it could happen on a clear day. My question is: Can you see Superman from the Washington Monument?

Well I don't know about the Washington Monument but you can see a lot from there. You can't see most of the park though, because of all of the trees. You can see the picnic area (Oak Groves), a HUGE forest bihind you, and some of the new constuction in the back of the park (I'm really hoping for a Stand-up). That would be a really good ride to be stuck on.
I never got to the top on my ride. The chain broke at about 140 feet up the lift. I was a little preoccupied with the chaos that ensued among the employees to notice the scenery.

The park map can be found at
www.geocities.com/thetropics/cove/8402/ Also is a list of resturants and a discription of the food sold at each. And the web master broke the rides down into each section so you could have a plan before you go.Not all the rides are listed though. But you can see them on the map.If you look very closely:).

As far as the overall assement of the park, too give it the 5-6 range. The about 7 times I've been this year, never was any ride over an hour wait (S:ROS on a Saturday, one train operation). Most everything was about 20-30min. Dont even worry about the slow dispacth times, there isnt that much to do at the park (compared to like PKD, PKI, CP, SFGAm, SFGAdv) so you will be able to ride it all (unless you go to the water park, where the lines looked long, but I never went). Also, in the TR section, there are reports by me, coasterpunk, Korn, Wild One (I think), and some others that give fairly accurate descriptions of the rides and the park in general. Take the good and bad from all and you will have a pretty good picture of the park. Have fun, and let us know when you are going...
Yes, Hostyl is right. There is only 7 coasters at the park, so especially with the short wait times, you will be able to ride every coaster multiple times. Some of the flat rides are pretty good, but a lot of them were closed. My favorite flat ride was the Iron Eagle. The Tower of Doom was also pretty good, but it is way to short(height wise) for a freefall.
