SFA 2005 News

Sorry, not the big news yet, but after being inspired by a find in another thread, I went to http://www.citigraph.com/ and looked at the sample maps. Sure enough there was a difference, but not what we had been expecting. The map looked exactly the same, but it looks like an old ride will be returning to the Nantucket area of the park. The new map clearly shows the old Enterprise ride across the path from Iron Eagle where it ran so many years ago. While this is great, it's still a bit troubling that there is nothing done to the waterpark when all the hints seem to so blatently point to a change in the waterpark. There was one small change to the water park (if you compare the map to the one from the parks website). There is a new yellow roofed building/food stand between the two red roofed buildings just below Deer Park Plunge on the map.

Anyways, I guess this opens up some questions. First of all, is this a completed 2005 map? And if it is, where are the "Better and Wetter" improvements the park is hinting at? Could the park be building a seperatly gated waterpark? But what sense would that make when SFGAm just switched their waterpark from being seperatly gated to one gate?

Well, I guess this leaves us with more questions than answers, but it seems the best news is that at the very least, we will see the return of a flat that has been out of order for the last 4 years or so and it appears that it will be returning with a new paint job (the colors on the map are significantly different than the colors the ride closed with).

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

If you compare the current park map on the Six Flags website to the one at www.citigraph.com, the citigraph version does not have Penguin's Blizzard River on it.

DUDE!

that map is sooooo old!

Get your story straight!

SAM

Yeah you can clearly see that it's an older map from 2002,which is when SFA began using maps with that style of design.

Now an odd thing is they show ME with the colors reversed & it does indeed show the enterprise running, now on my 02 map it shows nothing but a bunch of trees where SE used to stand.

My guess is they decided to remove SE just before the start of the season(after the initial map was printed)because I know the ride didn't operate in all of 01 & by 02 it was dismantled to the current state in which it has been for the past 3 seasons now, let's not also forget that on the 01 map they showed the sky coaster in a different location than it actually was built.

You really had me hoping there for a second that SE would make a come back but even I knew it was too good to be true,oh well hopefully they'll soon have it out of there so something new can take it's place & we won't have to see that ugly as sin fence whenever we're walking down the nantucket midway towards SWT.

As for the water park expansion updates,it'll all be revealed in due time so have patience everyone.....after all they can't get that much done right now what with all that snow we just got.

Errr...oops...sorry, just got excited I guess...

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

there you go again making statements that would lead someone to think you know what's going on.

But ya don't!

there isn't any construction that is being held up by the snow, they need a permit to build something, and there's been no permits issued to build water park rides........... So there ain't nothing going on!

try again

SAM

Aren't you the same person who claimed SFA wouldn't need a permit for waterslides because they're "temporary" structures?

I don't think you know what's going on either.

Funny that you noticed that too, Nate.

I don't think either of them know what is going on with SFA this year.

At least, neither of them know anything for sure, that I can gurantee you.

Well for anyone who has not noticed yet. (May have been posted in another thread.) Six Flags has Trademarked "BIGGER BETTER WETTER!"

The SFA "I know better than you" thing is getting kind of old.
