SF WOA!!! june 26th

Associated parks:
None

I went to both these parks this week to experience all the coasters they have to offer. First off: SFWOA. I'll provide a description of each coaster/ride, then an overall impression of the park.

SUPERMAN: ULTIMATE ESCAPE (2 laps)
This was my first ride of the season, as well as my first launched coaster. What a rush! This ride is really fun and intense, but not too intense so that you can't enjoy it. I was really surprised at the amount of airtime you get on the ride, and the view looking straight up the vertical spike is awesome. The ride seems to have more bark than bite. Alot of people don't want to ride due to its intimidating look. However, it's really just fun and not that crazy. Batman was much Crazier.
Rating 8/10

BIG DIPPER (2 laps)
We hit this after Superman. I really enjoyed going on this ride standing up! This coaster should be called a standup woodie- The lap bars are so far away you can almost stand up, which also provides some monster airtime!! On every hill I was flung literally 5 feet into the air only to slam into the lapbar! (actual lapbar distance may vary) I was really surprised with this old 1926 coaster! Surprised in the sense that it totally rocked. Surprised cuz it was the best woodie I had ever been on...!! However the second lap in the day wasn't HALF as good as the first.. maybe another woodie in the park spoiled me.. COUGH *Villain* COUGH
Rating 7/10

BATMAN: KNIGHT FLIGHT (4 laps)
Holy Crap! My first, and only B&M floorless, what a friggin rush! I was really surprised how intense this ride was. I was expecting a more 'gradual' transistion from each element. Instead, I got a madness-filled, G-intense coaster. Are all new B&M rides this nuts?!?! This coaster is really awesome. Super intense, with forces providing massive positive and negative g's. Great airtime going into the interlocking corkscrews... However even with all this goodness, there is something that BKF lacks. Something that I just can't put my finger on. Maybe a barrel roll. I dunno, ride it for yourself.
Rating: 8.5/10

VILLAIN (6 laps)
My first CCI woodie, as well as my favorite woodie. I finally know what everyone is talking about when it comes to CCI. Simply an awesome ride, filled with crazy amounts of airtime, swooping laterals, a trick track and headchoppers! What's this ride lacking? NOTHING!! I love every minute of this ride. It's sooo much fun, especially at night. :) There is NO part of this ride where it lets up.. I LOVE IT! My #2 coaster, second only to Millennium Force.
RATING 9.5/10

RAGING WOLF BOBS (1 lap)
Yikes! I should have ridden this woodie before the other two, because it really sucks. It's rough, bumpy, no airtime.. etc. Well, it's not THAT bad, but after riding the other coasters I was a little disapointed.
RATING 5/10

SERIAL THRILLER (1 lap)
An SLC which sucked. I don't like these rides, but this one seemed smoother, slower and better than my homepark SLC. I got a walk-on ride, and it was barely worth that.
RATING 4/10

MIND ERASER (1 lap)
A boomerang. Nuthin much else to say, although the left side of the ride had a pulley-cable and the right had a lift hill, which is also different from my homepark boomer, where the lift is on the left and cable on the right.. weird.
RATING 5/10

DOUBLE LOOP (1 lap)
A very short double looper with bad transistions. I really didn't like this ride. The only good part is the drop.. I guess
RATING 4/10

X-FLIGHT (1 lap)
WOW!! what a surprise! this ride actually rocks. It opened at 4:00, with a one train opperation, so the wait was 1 hr 30 mins, but worth it. The best part is the drop into the horseshoe turn!! awesome. I also love how smooth of a transision it is into the first turn over. AND THE LOOP!!! so awesome..it feels backwards!.. A really cool ride.
RATING 9/10

END NOTES: I know that everyone has heard about the poor capacity at this park, and how they always have only one train running on x flight, but x flight is a brand new ride, and I only waited 1 hr 30 mins. How long did people wait at CP when MF was new? A lot longer. SO GET OFF THEIR CASE!! I had a really fun time at the park dispite this, AND: no water fountains, opening park at 11:17, x flight opening at 4, and a bad stunt show..

I recogmend you go here! an awesome time.
i also went to CP on the 28th.. but am too tierd to write the trip report now.. look for it soon

PCW needs something taller than a boomerang *** This post was edited by coo man chu on 6/29/2001. ***
Actually, I only waited 1 hour for the 'Force and that was on a Saturday in August. I guess three train operation and a competent crew really reduce wait times ;).
Ah-men to that GandC...no wonder it's the Best amusement park in the world...;)

mikey
Glad you had fun on my birthday.

Ozzfest 2001: The greatest show on earth!
Were you wearing a C-Buzz shirt? Saw someone ride Villain over and over with one on. Waiting for them to complain because it looked to me like they were having fun...

"Villain-Once You Drop, The Fun Don't Stop!"~SFWoA Rules In 2001~X Marks The Spot In 2001(SFWoA)~With SFWoA ANYTHING Is Possible!
X-Flight is not new by any means in my book. It has been opened for enough time now that the kinks SHOULD be worked out. It is their biggest attraction, and I don't understand why they can't get it together, but at least it IS running.

What's this? Two Coasterbuzzers had fun at SFWoA in the same week? No, this can't be!

Hehe, I am glad you had fun. The park is really pretty sweet, eh?
