SF New Orelans deal signed

(I've submitted to the News section so I suspect once that's posted this thread will close.)

Looks like Mayor Nagin has signed a deal for the SFNO site. Link.

Good luck to the new owners. Just hope this doesn't turn out to be a bomb like HRP was.

HRP wasn't a bomb because the park sucked. It was a bomb due to the lack of a marketing plan.

Holy crapola, I didn't think they were EVER going to get anything done with that place.

I agree. The park was actually ok. But for me, the high prices, location, and a weak marketing plan brought in very few people thus leading to the bankruptcy

This is good news, as I have been wanting to check that place out.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Opening in "late" 2010? That sounds like an odd time of the year to get things rolling. Then again, I'm sure they want everything running smoothly by Fat Tuesday. Good luck.

The weather is much nicer October-April. Ever been to New Orleans in the summer? If not, put on a wool suit and proceed to your nearest gym and sit in the sauna.

Comfy? ;)

I dont believe it. I used to go almost every weekend and the place was dead, now I am upset that I moved, I would love to ride Mega Zeph a few hundred more times, if the park opens with it...
