SF Great America - 5/2/04 - GOOD times

Associated parks:
None

Come park closing time, stick someone at the ride entrance to allow only passholders into the line? Anyone can be in the park, but only those flashing a season pass ride.
Is American Eagle running both frontwards and backwards this year? How is the ride backwards for anyone that has done it? It sounds cool.

Yes, it's running both directions again this season. Backwards is fun a couple times but I think part of the thrill is seeing where you are going. I still finsd myself riding forwards more often. A couple people reported the Blue train (Backwards) was actually delivering a little air on opening weekend but I didn't really notice anything different.

"Heavily medicated for your safety!"

Thanks for the tip Brad, it sounds pretty cool, can't wait to get there in a couple weeks.

I think it's safe to say that "one side backwards/one side forwards" is now a permanent thing on American Eagle just like the Racer at PKI.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Since you need to be in the park 30 minutes before closing, that seems to me like they will be taking season pass members to a specific place (picnic grove?) and maybe clear the park from back to front and open the coasters to season pass people back to front. This is just a guess.. what they did for the Mtv nights is they would have the people w/ the Mtv passes line up at a specific spot (ex: The now Yukon / Mardi Gras bridge for the batman nights). They would then open that up for the 1.5 hours or so once the general public is out.
How many of these CAD events are there going to be?

I, for one, am dying to find out what the actual logistics plan is for this - I'll be really impressed if whatever plan they have covers "all the bases" - seems like a nightmare to me. But, time will tell...I'm sure they won't go into the first night willy-nilly ;)

Blink, a flip back to page 1 of this thread would show you:

Wednesday, June 16: 9PM-11PM

Wednesday, July 21: 10PM-midnight

Wednesday, August 11: 10PM-midnight

Three nights total.

Oh my bad, sorry about that... ;) Well sounds like fun though.
