Glad to see you enjoyed the park. Hopefully you'll get tat El Toro ride eventually.
I was at the park this past Saturday (9/24) and El Toro was running one train only. The park closed at midnight but El Toro stopped accepting riders to enter the line at about 10:30pm. Spoke to the ride op at the line entrance who informed me that there was a serious problem with the second train and it "had to be broken down into a million parts and sent back to the manufacturer." Take that as you will.
I arrived at 7:00pm and line for El Toro extended past the in-queue snack shop and into the last queue area, all the way up until the line closed for the night. I entered the line just as it was closing at 10:30pm and it took about an hour, including a 10-12 minute "breakdown" which cleared the line better than running one train could.

Unless they've been scavenging them for parts, I thought KK had at least 4 trains.

I can confirm that Toro's second train was missing from the transfer track on Saturday. There was a sign in front of the queue that said something about the second train undergoing routine maintenance for your future enjoyment. I fully expect it to be down to one train for the remainder of the season, so anyone planning to go should make sure to hit El Toro early in the day (ideally second after Skull Mountain VR).

Around 4 or 5 years ago they stopped using 4 trains and only use 3 trains at the most. The park also now only uses 1 loading station out of the 4 supposedly so the switch track doesn't have to be used anymore and to increase capacity with 4 ride operators checking the train instead of 2 at each station. Although I don't think that matters much anymore since Zumanjaro basically cut Kingda Ka's capacity in almost half.
