SF Fright Fest

I thought both SFStL (2003) and SFGAdv (2002) had excellent Fright Fests. SFStL had a couple of great animatronics that jumped out at people when triggered. SFGAdv had more characters than any other event I've been to. That, mixed with the park's very wooded areas and a lot of smoke, led to lots of scares.

The Fright Fests at both parks were certainly better than the poor excuse for a Halloween event I found at Cedar Point and Dorney Park.

Well the simple reason that FF is dead at SFStL is because they know that there is no way they can ever out do the park across the state which had record attendance last year during the Halloween event. I would imagine that this year the attendance will be even larger as they have added two new mazes and a fright zone. Best part, it's included in your admission while SFStL's sorry excuses are upcharge. Seriously they haven't updated the Haunted Mausoleum or Brutal Planet since they debuted.

Coasterdude, I had the pleasure of going a few years before 2002 (particularly the year the first pay Brutal Planet house was there, but I never got to the one the second and last year) and thought it had gone way downhill since then. 2002 had okay scare zones and the hayride was better than the previous two years(which were really realy bad!), but it just didn't have enough to do. Plus the shows were the same the past few years (hanging, hypnosteria, and they even lost Dr. Fright's last show with the other characters and fireworks). SFNE did a much better job last year with Brutal Planet and a soso Terrorvisions 3D (though I missed the Terror Trail). I admit the silly puppet show was also realy good and the theming with the blood red fountains were more effective than GAdv's theming.

I hadn't been to SFNE before, but GAdv has been downhill, and the last two years went up a bit, but without the walkthrough haunted houses or at least a well done hayride, it seems to be missing a lot. As tired as it is, the Dead Man's Party is good enough to get me to watch, but it shouldn't be the highlight of a trip there.

I think SFMM does a pretty good job with its Fright Fest...could do better, but isnt that the theme with this park year round?

I went to SFMM's Fright Fest back in 2002...riding Colossus backwards in the dark was by far the best part of the trip! For some reason...i never made it to any of the haunted houses...the lines were way too long. I dont remember any scare zones either?!?

...and such

Is Fright Fest at Kentucky Kingdom just as bad?
last year at WoA, the ff was good...
the ghoulies seriously wigged my 7 yrd old nephew which was hillarious...
he was fine in the daylight, but at night the monsters looked real...
after it got dark, we was like:
markie, my legs hurts...
followed by...
markie, i got a headache...
markie, my elbow hurts... lol
i gave him a good cope-out though..
i told him i was getting tired and we should leave... told him he'd acted real brave around the monsters... lol
I didn't like a great many things about 6flags, but they did have a good frightfest... *** Edited 10/1/2004 8:34:36 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***
