The former CPJunkie. CB Club Member. 122 coasters :)

The main reason we don't have rides with that kind of art on them is that Americans, for the most part, are prudes. :(

Goodbye Whizzer, dear friend. You set me rolling many years ago into this fun hobby...

Thats what I was thinking.

Where are the men. I wonder what kind of paintings could be done on a "Wacky Worm" kiddy coaster?

coasters that dash, and waves that crash.

Thank you arkansascomet, I now have the most bizarre image in my head that I can't forget.
The "Waltzer" is the English version of the Tilt a Whirl. The European show artists have a traditon of pushing the limit. Get a hold of a copy of "Fairground Art" by Wheedon and ward. It is well documented in there.

But more then a tilt-a-whirl, a Waltzer usually also has a ride op on the platform itself spining your car for you. It's pretty insane when that happens, watching him dance from car to car spining them all while still maintaining his balance on the moving platform. They give long rides too! I had a 7 minute ride on one at South Pier in Blackpool!

I never saw this ride outside of the UK though. So I am not sure if there are others elsewhere or not.

I'm from Northern England and we have a traveling fair visit us every year. You may think i'm lying but this is completly true. I have been on this exact ride http://www.northwestfairs.free-online.co.uk/ScotlandB/scot1.htm . Either that or the exact same ride with the exact same paint job.

It's a fun ride.

Waltzers are classics. You do get the guys spinning them, it makes the ride alot better. I went to America and i've seen one of these rides there so you do have exactly the same thing.

Sex sells, especially in the entertainment industry. These are not family parks, and Europeans are not the prudes that Americans are.

Just think after riding that Matterhorn, you could say that you rode Cindy Margolis:)

Those look funny!
