Setting the record straight re: FamilyFun Awards

In the News section, it was alleged that I got carried away with my latest news release, making a claim that wasn't accurate.

Just in case you saw that, but don't plan to check back to see my response, I want to assure everyone that the FamilyFun Family-Friendly Travel Awards *did* name Holiday World as the Midwest's #2 Amusement Park (and Cedar Point as #1).

The magazine article (page 66) goes into far more detail than what they put on their website--it even includes the number of "points" each park received.

I don't want to get all defensive about this, but I did want to set the record straight.

Thanks, Paula

No prob.

On a side note, how's that big new water slide coming along? Is it about done tube-wise?

Have taken a look at our webcam? ZOOMbabwe is really getting up there! I think they're getting pretty close to the top, but they're not there yet. It's hard to keep from rubbernecking in the morning as I drive in to work--I'll probably end up in a ditch or something one of these days!

Thanks, Paula

Yup, I just checked out the webcam. It just keeps going higher and higher! You're really going to be cooking at the bottom of that thing.

LOL, Paula. I was just testing you. I knew you were right! ;)

Sorry about that. I really should have plainly asked first instead of just going with my assumptions from the website. I really did try to look all over the site to make sure I wasn't wrong, lol. I figured they did post everything there. It's not that I thought the park didn't deserve it. I think it deserves the number one spot for being a family park, because the way you treat people is outstanding and you're additions each year are just right. But, I still find it hard to believe that CP would be the number one "family" park, but ok. Even SFWoA got higher votes from AT I think for best kids area.

It wasn't that I thought you stretched the truth, but that you assumed it was number 2 since it was second in the order. I was clearly wrong and my first sentence was a lot more harsh than I meant for it to be. I really wish they would have made it more clear as a 1, 2, 3 thing instead of just listing them. About the ABC order, I thought it said "no particular order" which is why I didn't pay much attention that the others weren't in that order.

Sorry again. My foot is way in my mouth. It will take weeks to dislodge it. :)

Lucky for me, Paula has an outstanding sense of humor and class or I might have been in for a real beating. ;)

Thanks again Paula and congrats to the park!
