Setpoint's 4D

I was searching the web and I found an article on Setpoint that talked about their Seizmic prototype. It is a coaster with the Intamin box track and two seats on each side of the track, like a 4D. More importantly, is the prototype coaster called Seizmic 442. Which actually moves like the 4D, complete with inversions and spinning! Looks like the Ohama park might have a new kind of X coaster after all.

It was my understanding - and I could be totally wrong - that Setpoint's coaster w/ the seats positioned off to the side of the track did not feature seats that rotate. Rather they would remain upright and negotiate inversions like a typical sit-down coaster does. Can you provide the link to that article, I'd like to read it myself.

Thanks!

Sounds really cool, maybe it's more reliable too! ::cough x cough:

It looks as if it can move just like the 4D. Here is a quote from the webpage

"The evolution of the Seizmic, this version features seats that can move in a similar way to Arrow's Fourth Dimension."

Setpoint's product has almost nothing in common other than the fact that the seats are not over the track. They don't rotate. The big selling point is that the trains attach to the side of the track and you can mount an independent train on both sides.

If you look up their patent, you can see a couple conceptual drawings that show the track split and do various acrobatic dueling maneuvers.

I don't care. As long as theirs can remain OPEN for more than a month, I'll be happy. XD
