Seen Anything Unsafe?

River Raft rides are by fay the most dangerous ride out there. If they aren't spaced out correctly, they can wedge in the channel and flip. I've seen it happen several times. Also, if the weir (objects on the bottom of the trough that make the water turbulent) is not placed properly, the boats slam into it, sending guests flying (I was in a boat when they were testing Rip Roaring Rapids at PGA---I think they must not have been aware of the problem until we 'tested' it!)

Yes! My 4yr old daughter was involved in an accident involving the wacky worm, a kiddie coaster, I believe made by Pinfari. She was thrown from the car. Luckily it only resulted in stitches, but there were several frightful hours at the hospital.

When I was at SFMM in January people were walking down from the very top of Viper. BTW it was pooring rain.

I don't even know what ride this was, but on a boardwalk in seaside hts. nj, there's a small looper, and the ride ops had to push the trains out of the station! This is probably as funny, as it is unsafe. I still crack up at how cheap that must've been, picture 4 big guys pushing a train all the way to the lift hill!

Funny thing RB Guy. I had an incident on the same coaster (Roller Coast Loop) at Seaside Heights. I went on last summer and the ride op was too busy yacking on the phone to check my otsr. He sent me on my way and I pulled on the otsr myself and it popped open at the base of the lifthill. The operator stopped the lift and came over right away screaming in my face and threating to throw me out off the pier. I simply told him to lock the otsr "this time" and send me on my way or I will complain to the state dept of labor. He did continue my ride. The ride supe at that time was a 16 year old kid.
Chickenhawk: Did the train make it to the lift hill by itself? lol!

I don't know how unsafe it really was, but at CP about a week or so ago, my girlfriend and I were riding Magnum and her safety belt wasn't on. The two ride ops were in a race to check the train and neither of the two noticed it. I never would have know it if it hadn't been for me getting out of the train and forgetting to unbuckle my belt. I was a bit embarassed but she pointed out that her's wasn't even fastened. I thought she might have accidentally undone it during the ride but the onride photo clearly shows it floping around. I don't know how much safety these belts provide but I thought it was a bit odd that CP being so safety conscious would let that by.
