See if you can open this file, guys.

Ok, I'm having no luck at getting my minipark to open again.

I've tried everything, but when it loads - just before it should appear onscreen the game kicks to a black screen and gives me the rct3.exe error.

I zipped the file. You can unzip it to either the parks or scenarios folder. If you put it in the parks folder, load it from the sandbox menu and if you put it in scenarios load it from the custom scenarios menu.

The File is called Cliffside and I wish I had grabbed some screens, because considering all the flaws with the game - it looked pretty nice.

The park is about 90% done. It kept crashing on me the further and further along I got and finally got to the point where it just crashes the game.

So if you guys don't mind, download the file and see if it'll open in your game or not. If someone gets it to open let me know. Maybe even resave it and send it back to me to see if that helps.

Thanks everyone.

Kicked me right out of the game and I didn't even get an error. RCT3 just freakin died and went away. My guess is you have too many objects in your little park and you have hit yet another thing that their obvious lack of playtesting has yet to uncover. Bastards.

Certain victory.

Well, at least it's not just me. That's what I was hoping to confirm.

The thing is, the map is only 69 x 69. Only about 27% of the maximum map size. And it's not super themed or anything - average at best. If that's enough to take the game down...man, I don't even know what to say.

Sigh.

You know, I just thought about the size of the map again.

If you figure it in total area (69x69=4761 vs max size of 254x254=64516) - then this map only covers 7.5% of the total area available on a maximum sized map!

No reason this should be crashing like that on a map so small.

Why are you creating new maps? Didn't anybody tell you you must only spend time creating new coasters for all of us to drool over?

Dang it, Gonch! Stop being so selfish and start thinking about us for once!

Sadly, this seems like yet another problem. I would rather have waited until January to get a finished product, than a half done game that dosen't do what it was ment to...

Hehe, Tekno. Because most of the coasters don't run right yet.

Also, the entire issue with not being able to save scenary with rides. Gonch's coaster designs are great, but what makes them most impressive is his ability to incorporate the scenary like a true professional.

If we can't share that in the coaster tracks, then I guess we'll have to resort to sharing saved games. Kinda eliminates the possibility of dropping someone else's coaster with scenary in your own existing park. Something we could all easily get over, I guess, but would be nice if that could easily be patch fixed by Frontier.

But if we're having trouble saving games and reopening them, then that's an entire issue they need to address.

crashes for me too , no error , just CTD.
All my saved games have a lot of mp3s in as well where i've added my own music. that'll be fun for Jeff's bandwidth.
This may be dumb but oh well....wher do you send the file to try to open to view...I need to know for future parks once the bug is fixed?
Your mp3's won't be uploaded with the rest of your park because somebody else won't have the same music that you have in their library. Notice that you have to add the music to a folder for it to be accessible while playing the game...that makes it local to you.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
Gonch, is there an address on the official RCT site for tech support? I'd send the file to them with a bug report (if you haven't already).

Even if the safefile is somehow corrupted, it shouldn't crash RCT3 -- that's a bug, plain and simple.

I'll have to look into that, Greg.

At this point I'm sure I'll slip in at something like #2500 in their queue ;)
