See Hypersonic XLC as it springs into action

Posted | Contributed by batpete

Finally, see Hypersonic XLC in action! It's a beautiful thing! Hypersonic opened Saturday, March 24th to the public, and got through the day with only a few hours of downtime. It broke down once during the day and was closed for a few hours while what must have been 20 mechanic guys (some from PKD and some from S&S) worked on it. I waited 5 hours to ride the front seat, and it was all worth it!

Related parks

The ride is INSANE, the launch is intense, and the pop of air in the back seat is just nuts :) I can't wait to go back and ride it. Hopefully we will get one in Ohio soon ;)

I noticed there was a Kings Dominion map, where did they move the Flying Scooters to? For I could not see it.

Has anybody actually seen the pictures? I tried two different browsers and never saw one picture of XLC. In fact on Explorer which I never use, half the menu options were missing from what I saw on Navigator and it locked up several times. BTW, 5 hours to ride one very short coaster? I can't wait to see the lines this summer. Not!
Sorry about that, there may be some problems with Navigator, that I am working on, but with Explorer everything works just fine...at least it has for everyone I have talked to. If not try using this address directly to the HyperSonic page - http://www.coastercavern.com/pkd/hypersonic/hypersonic.php3

The Flying Scooters ride, which was called the Scream Weaver when it was in the Wayne's World area, and is now called Flying Eagles, is located beside the antique cars and across from the entrance to Grizzly. This is the fourth relocation of this classic ride.
All of the HyperSonic XLC pics can now be viewed in Netscape however, the menu and some other pages may still not work right in Navigator, they will all be fixed within a couple of days...just a little coding error.

Man, this looks awesome!! Now, if only they would build this ride in all other Paramount Parks including PCW...

Thanks Batpete, the link worked. Those seats look tricky to get into.
They are actually very comfortable though... Although there were some people who could not fit - some very tall people cannot fit into them because of the extra bars across the legs, and then people that are much larger can't fit, but that is the same for most coasters.

Thanks Will, I knew they were moving the classic Flying Scooters, but I wasen't sure whether or not they were going to keep the Waynes World Theming or re-name the ride. Least I know now!

How long do you think the wait will be this weekend for HSXLC on Sunday?
Those pics are amazing, and I too which they would build one at PCW.
How do those restraints come down?
PKD is still planning on running one train it looks like for at least a while, so the wait will probably be pretty bad...but whatever you do, in less you want to wait all day, don't wait for the front seat...although it was a great view from the front :)

The restraints look more complicated than they are, all three of the bars are connected to the one main column - the same as a normal lap bar. You get in and when you pull the lap bar down, the other two bars come down, one at your shins and the other at you ankles, very simple, and for me it was actually very comfortable.
