BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — Firefighters had to use ladders to rescue more than two dozen people who got stuck on a roller coaster Thursday.
It was the second problem with a ride at Lake Compounce Theme Park park in two days. On Wednesday, a 23-year-old maintenance worker was struck and killed by the Boulder Dash roller coaster as it was being tested before opening time.
The problem Thursday was with the Zoomerang, a steel roller coaster that goes forward and backward through several loops.
The coaster failed to return to the area where passengers get off, park spokesman Richard Bisi said. He said the ride got stuck on a relatively level section.
No injuries were reported among the 26 passengers, and Bisi said there was no immediate indication of what caused the problem.
Its too bad, Lake Compounce doesn't deserve this streak of bad luck. All of these negative events can't be helping the park...
Thanks for that bit of info, but there's already a thread about this in the News section.
