SeaWorld will stop giving out plastic bags at its theme-park gift stores in San Diego on June 18 in hopes of cutting plastic pollution in the ocean. Company officials said the move could save more than 1 million plastic bags from being used.

^My guess is that Californians are a step ahead in environmentalism. Maybe they're piloting at SWSD and then decide chain-wide based on the results (will merch sales decline, etc.)?
This is the chain that started using compostable forks and such a number of years ago. We have those at work, and it's hilarious to see a fork get deformed if you leave it in your hot food for too long.

We recently took a trip to the Cleveland Zoo/Rainforest, and they use those utensils as well. Being that they're made from wheat, and they're completely edible, they're basically pasta. "Challenge accepted"...
I do like them, but they fall apart so easily, I wouldn't spend more than a few pennes on each piece.

LOL, I'm all for the Anti-pasta movement!
I think the move if more local politics then anything major. I recycle or reuse the plastic bags i get. every store aroudn me as well as Walmart offers up the reusable bags. Many local businesses have offered them as giveaways.
