SeaWorld San Diego gets green light for Mako, a B&M dive roller coaster

The California Coastal Commission Wednesday approved the park's request for a dive coaster called Mako, set to open at the park next year. The roller coaster is already being billed as the "tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster in California," and the only floorless dive coaster in the state.

I find it amusing that the article ends with "Here's a look at the ride already in operation at SeaWorld Orlando"... which is a completely different ride experience. Lazy reporting, I guess :)

Oh my- Further pissing off the SWO fanboys crying that San Diego stole “their” name, theme, logo, etc. They have to be hoppin mad now!

But I'll say that Mako is a sweet name for SWO's because it's fast, swoopy, curvy, etc. But for a dive coaster I don't get it.

But there are quite a few coaster names I don't get. In reality, I don't really care, as long as the coaster is good. (Steel Vengeance anyone?)

Well... maybe. I read some of these complaints and thought the same thing as I was typing. Maybe they fall into the larger, general category of Florida Parks Fanboys.
