SeaWorld Orlando trying fireworks and light show

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

SeaWorld Orlando will begin producing a fireworks and laser show in July. The park hopes to keep guests in the park longer with the show, and will evaluate it when the show ends around Labor Day. Some Disney and Universal parks also offer similar shows at various times during the year.

Hmm, how do the animals feel about that? I can't imagine any species that relies on sonar would take kindly to huge explosions over their tanks every night.
This isn't the first time SeaWorld has put on a night fireworks/laser show. I saw one at SeaWorld in 1997, and I remember there being a special evening Shamu show with fireworks in the past.

I think this could go very well for the park. I love SeaWorld.

For as long as I can remember, there was a fireworks show every night at Sea World Ohio. (Until of course SF took over) I don't remember ever hearing of any concern about the animals hearing loud explosions then. I personally would like to see CF bring nightly firework shows back to GL.
Sea World down here in San Antonio used to have an effects show with a water screen that they projected images onto. It included lasers and fireworks. Don't think they've had that the past couple of years but I do know they have fireworks shows for the 4th of July, I was there the past two years for it. That's something I've wondered before about places like SWT, SWF and SFMW. How does it affect the animals to have coasters running so close by. Imagine what you hear and feel when standing close to coasters, now I'd figure the vibrations carry thru the water pretty well so figured it wouldn't be the best idea to have coasters so close to tanks.
"Shamoo"???? LMAO! ;-)
Sea World San Diego has had nightly fireworks shows for years, done right after the Shamu Killer Whale night show ends during the summer season. No problems with the animals/mammals.
rolacostaking, You're saying the past 3 years I've been going to every fireworks display at the (former) Batman Stadium when I've visited , all 21 visits in 3 years, were just my imagination? Guess all those photos of the Fireworks displays were UFO's in the sky!
I remember hearing about that show with the smaller water screen and pyro...I saw it on TV once before dont remember its name...i thought it had an Atlantis theme....

This sounds great for the park. Illumniations and the other nighttime shows really cap off a day. If they do it right, like it sounds, Mistify could really be something special.

coaster dude, np, i can relate to the "little sleep" approach to life! :-)
