SeaWorld Orlando to build up waterfront

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

SeaWorld Orlando plans to build a waterfront dining and shopping complex in the middle of the park. The plan calls for four shops, a pair of cafeteria-style restaurants and a two-story bar, built to resemble an old stone fort, around the base of the park's Sky Tower.

Sounds like a good idea for that spot in the park.

Am I the only one who found it odd that they actually charge to go up in that tower? Explains why we don't see any high photos of Kraken on the Net!

I'll tell you what. I don't want to hear anybody who lives in Orlando say they are bored, have nothing to do, or have nowhere to eat!

wahoo, I live in Orlando and I'm bored, and have nothing to do. However, food is no problem! There are more restaurants here than anywhere I've been recently. They are all evenly distributed, so you are never too far away from a good meal! If you visit, the food downtown and on Park Ave is the best around.

I rarely visit the parks because they are all in the middle of nowhere, about 45 mins from civilization.

The parks are in the middle of nowhere? Well let's see, Universal is at the intersection of the Turnpike and I-4 and WDW is 20 minutes away.

While this sounds like it could be a really neat project, I think that if they wanted to keep that "Adventure Park" line under their name, then they should have advanced into something else.

That's just my opinion, I still want to go to the park since I haven't been there in 10 years...and I live in Florida.

Does this thing go faaaaaast!

I think it'll add to the park, but to really make a mark in Orlando, they need to add another one of those great rides that they already have a couple of. I love Kraken and Atlantis, those are two VERY good rides. Good Luck Seaworld.
Well this sounds like a kewl idea...I think it will turn out nice

It's $3 to go up the Sky Tower. It's free for annual passholders.

The Sky Tower would be awesome to go up during the special effects show, it does operate. Sea World was is my second favorite park in Orlando and I've been to all the big ones. It's so different and Kraken after 20 rides doesn't get old! I need some more Journy To Atlantis trips to! I also love the animal exhibits, the only problem with parks like these, it that they really rely on shows, and once you have seen them, thier not worth really going back to. Except Cirque De la Mer, that is awesome!

Sea World Orlando is in good hands, I have my inside sourses. My moms cousin is the head cheff there. They are removing the show on the water, that thing was cool. Shame to see that go. But at least we get some great food! I really think they will need another thrill soon though.
A good investment but isn't really something that will draw people into the park.

Why would they have remove the water show? I assume your talking about the special effects/fire works show.
