Passengers on Sky Tower said they were stuck for more than three hours, 200 feet above the park. Fifteen Orange County firefighters assisted staff at the park in the rescue efforts. About 50 people were onboard at the time of the malfunction, officials said.

The news alerts I was getting on my phone yesterday, as always, made more of a story out of this than there was, but 3 hours is definitely more than 20 minutes on a lift hill. Still nowhere near as bad as the Cedar Point Space Sprial incident back in the day where they had to climb down.

Who cares about the CP story - check out the Kmart add. Holy crap did we pay a whole lot of money for some pretty sad technology back in those days. $200 for a 13 inch TV. At least it was color.
But on the serious side, that had to have been awful being stuck in that cabin for 7+ hours.
