My last visit to Tampa was two years ago. It's not "bashing" it to say that a number of key rides were closed for the day, intermittently down, or plagued by show operations. That's what happened. My kid was super disappointed that Cobra's Curse was closed. Is it better now? Don't know, but I need a really compelling reason to drive down I-4.

Food was still good on that visit. I recall we ate at their "Festhaus" (I can never remember the actual name), and had some snacks at other locations. Not sure if the desserts were "fresh" at that point, but you need to try hard to screw up chocolate cake.

Tampa is the black sheep of the chain, it’s why I haven’t gone back in a long time. I’m about to spend a week in Williamsburg where I will do BGW, Water Country and Colonial Williamsburg exclusively all week. It’s the only place not in California or Orlando I enjoy doing a park that many days and not get bored.

I seem to have one great SWO visit to every two bad ones. They lure me back in then disappoint me in a completely different way each time. BGW is disappointing lately but I’ve never had a “bad” experience.

Touchdown:

I’m about to spend a week in Williamsburg

I did this a year ago and worked remotely for a week. Williamsburg has really improved in the last decade. Lots to do.

I’ve been to the park maybe 4 times and usually with the intention of trying a new ride. And those February visits have been good with low crowds and a park that I find to be quite pretty. I don’t really have the complaints about operations but I will say I try to bust the big rides out in the morning and later in the day with fish shows in between.
It’s my one and only Sea World park (and I live in Ohio). We almost went to the one in SanDiego last year but opted for Belmont instead. That was fine but I was sorry I didn’t get a new park out of it, lol.
