^^Hitting the 2 Florida Fun Spots in December the same weekend we are using our Sesame Place platinum passes down there. Can't wait to ride Mine Blower and White Lightning. The Fun Spot season pass is good for the rest of 2018, too. Been waiting for them to announce this. Thanks for the heads up, Tommytheduck.
Mine Blower was way more fun than it had any business being from looking at stats and videos. They cram a lot into that small footprint. I would’ve made that $75 pass worthwhile on Mine Blower alone! Didn’t get to check out White Lightning.
But then again, what do I know?
Six Flags has updated their Thanksgiving Sale to the "Cyber Sale". No time period mentioned on this sale, but one would expect through Cyber Monday.
(reviewing Magic Mountain only, for other parks read the fine print)
Pricing (for Magic Mountain) is the same as the prior Thanksgiving sale. The season pass is available as a SINGLE and not a +2 +3 +4 purchase requirement.
HOWEVER!!! The pass must be processed by Dec 30th AT SFMM. so note that if you're buying.
Memberships are the same prices as the prior Thanksgiving sale, but do NOT have the redeem by 12/30/18 requirement.
For those in the L.A. Market, SFMM has been offering all kinds of additional "bring a friend for $9.99" or "FREE" for Membership holders. These are usually for M-Thur, during the off-season. Can't say if that continues through the "off season" into 2019, but keep that in mind.

As much as I love Gravity Group, this coaster really has me almost excited to ride as I am about Mako. I ended up buying the Fun Spot pass. We'll hit the 2 parks 3 times in December because of it.
^As far as the Six Flags pass, Great America does several bring a friend free or really cheap days. The first 2 weekends in November were like that with either the season pass or the membership. When you have to process the season pass by in order to get the gold pass upgrades seems to be dependent upon when the park is opened for the rest of the year. Great America was always by Memorial Day...now, since they are open for Christmas, you have to process it by the end of this year. At Darien Lake, you have until June 2nd.
Great Adventure's current sale brings the single gold pass price down to a much more reasonable $8 extra over the 2 or more pass price ($82.99 for 1, $74.99 each for 2 or more).

Magic Mountain has three "dedicated" bring a friend free days, however, they've been dropping "Friend for $9.99" or "Friend for Free" on most Monday-Thursdays in Oct-Nov, and now 12/17 for Holiday in the Park. These are in addition to whatever days are planned as "season pass appreciation bring a friend days". Seems like Great America was doing these extras in Nov. For someone in the L.A. market, and can take a mid week day, these are super bonuses. As you can imagine the park has been EMPTY on these days, making my Platinum FOTL Pass almost unnecessary. Almost.
But seriously, with my Double Deluxe with Cheese membership and "bring a friend for free", i'm getting mega usage out of this purchase

YoshiFan,
what's the Great Adventure restriction on when the pass must be processed?

Fun Spot passes... What a deal! You'll get your moneys worth after you ride three rides! :p
Yeah, that's the thing. I'm in Orlando a lot, but never with enough time to justify a single ticket entry price to any park. I'll make it to the Fun Spot parks enough times at only a few hours per visit to make it worth the money. (Will probably find a way to hit the Georgia park too.)
I've had a Sea World "fun pass" since February and have made six or seven small, 3-hour visits. The hotel my work puts us up at is across the street. Undecided if I'm going to renew come Feb, as rumor has it we might be switching hotels soon.
The great thing about the Fun Spot parks, at least in Florida, is that they are open most nights until midnight. So, we will be hitting them, each night, after BGT and SWO. Plus, we will hit them, again, on the way to the airport. That weekend trip will definitely pay for the pass. It sounds like marathoning rides on White Lightning and Mine Blower aren't too difficult to come by. Without a pass or a $45 daily ticket, each ride is $10.
$21.50 any day tickets for Lake Compounce now for Black Friday sale. With fees, 2 admissions with parking totaled $63.
Six Flags now has a new twist on the Gold membership item. Buying the Gold Membership now gets you an auto-upgrade to "Platinum" FOR LIFE, assuming you renew each year. The gold to plat upgrade has been offered before I think (almost a standard offer I believe), but the Upgrade to Platinum for life is a new pitch. I don't have time to go back and see how this compares to prior offers, but pricing looks about the same as prior for the "gold-plat" membership.
There is only a $12/year incremental for purchases of 1-3 items, so no requirement to buy 4.
The pricing for all other iterations and add-ons, (Diamond, Diamond Elite, Dining Plan, Deluxe Dining, and Gold/Plat Flash Pass) are consistent with prior sales.
Season passes seem to be the same as prior sales, but no requirement to buy 4.
^The memberships are a minimum of 12 months. After that, I believe it just becomes a recurring payment until you cancel rather than a renewal.
Got to SeaWorld Orlando today. Used my Sesame Place platinum pass for the first time. While we're only supposed to get regular parking here, they gave us preferred parking. Plus getting an extra 15% off the all day food and drink plan.
UPDATE: Got preferred parking at Busch Gardens Tampa, too.
If you have a Platinum pass for any of the SeaWorld properties they will usually give you the associated benefits for the park you're visiting - including the preferred parking. The only exceptions to this are the monthly benefits that are specific to only Florida park Platinum passholders (the monthly passholder giveaways or promos).
My home park for the Platinum pass is BGW. I've visited all of the SeaWorld and Busch properties in the last few years, and I've received preferred parking each visit. The Florida parks will also usually let you enjoy re-ride privileges on the larger coasters with a non-Florida Platinum pass and reserved seating at the shows.
I had actually messaged Sesame Place and SeaWorld asking if the pass would work at both parks. Both responses came back stating that preferred parking was only included at Sesame Place. I was probably chatting with the same person, though. I'm not going to argue with them, though...lol
Found out that the Sesame Place pass may not be purchased by residents who live in FL, VA, TX or CA. I knew there had to be a catch. Glad I live in MI.
Wow! Glad I live in NY... Now to just figure out when I’d need one...
But then again, what do I know?
