Sea World part of SFWoA?

hey i just read an article in the paper (more on that below) that was talking about Sea World in aurora ohio.... which i realized is where SFWoA is... are they one and the same? or different?

anyways the article was kinda humorous, apparently 6 of the penguins from Sea World were transferred to San Diego and put in a pool with 46 other birds... the new penguins began swimming laps back and forth in the pool nonstop and somehow have communicated this to the others.... now all 52 birds start swimming laps early in the morning and rarely stop until "they stagger out of the pool close to dusk"

if that is really part of SFWoA, makes me wonder how they can run their animals so efficiently, yet their employees are terrible :)

Six Flags bought it a few years ago.
oh i see... so there were originally 2 seperate parks built around that lake? i know the park is built around a lake.... seems kinda strange 2 parks could succeed so close to each other...

"It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone"

yeah, it was just a case of a mis-informed reporter...

But, to answer your other question, they were separate at one point but SeaWorld didn't have any ride so they kinda played off each other well.

Also, on a side note, this topic was brought up earlier today... http://club.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=28100 or http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=28100

If you've never been there how would you know there are terrible employees?

They have pretty darn good employees IMO, the management just sucks.

Coming in 2003-The Spawn Of Magnum!

The employees on the wildlife side are friendly, courteous, and answer your questions as it relates to the animals.

The ride side employees were just there. They werent overly friendly and they also werent rude either. Basically they just went through the motions.

I cant speak for the management because I have only been there once, but I can see where that might be a problem. 1-train operations on the woodies is a perfect example. :)

This would actually not be considered normal behavior, and would be the result of animals in captivity not understanding how to lead a normal life. I'm not flaming you, just putting it out there for ya'll who may not understand. It dosen't come from any park not taking "Proper" care of the animals, but just from being in captivity.

and jkpark, why must every post you make be so negative, Like i said in the B & M post, Unless you've been to EVERY Six Flags park, you can't make this assumption. I've been to 2, SFA and SFGA, although I thought there were more things that could be fixed @ SFGA than SFA, I liked both parks enought to want to go back again.

I go there because I am an animal lover, especially marine animals and yes those employees are curteous and knowledgeable (sp?) but that's probably only because most of them are left over from "Sea World" The addition of the few new rides at SFWoA was cool. They're good rides (when the employees know how to operate them) but I agree I think it is very poorly run since it's been Six Flags which I really thought would improve the park.

Which reminds me, I think I'll go start a new thread. Sorry, something is wrong and I can't get the Italics to click off.
