SDC's American Plunge Coming Back for 2005?

First the first thematic tunnel was removed and now they have a jack hammer machine tearing apart the concrete that was used for the trough http://midwestinfoguide.com/silver/010305/1.jpg Anyone know what they are doing? I certainly hope that it comes back as it is a fun ride and is very popular in the summer.

bet ya they're replacing parts of it with the log flume removed from Dollywood
That might be, but then SDC's only uses a cement canal and really does not use "flume" pieces like the one that was removed from DW used. They could be "updating" it though?!?!

I also think they are retheming the ride too. This is almost the saem thing that happend to the Flooded Mine back in 2001, it looked gutted out from the outside and the tower was rebuilt.

Well I almost think they might be adding a walkway from PK to WF and that might be why they had to take the tunnel out. I'm not sure, but wish the truth could be found out soon.
Dollywood's Arrow Flume was completely destroyed, trough and all. Only the log boats are still around. Maybe they are headed for SDC, as they did find a new home. (Just not sure at which park)

If the SDC flume is made out of concrete, is it possible they are just re-pouring it? If it was cracking bad then I think that is possibility.

I'm actually surprised they did take the entire ride and put it into Stone Mountain park.

I would imagine that is what they are now doing Dukeis. I just found it weird that they would need to take out the tunnel as well.

That would be SWEET, getting around inside the park was the only thing worse than having to leave, LOL...

COULD it be the tunnel was taken away to make the repair work easier in that section? Ask Disney (Space Mtn. in CA) how hard it is to get work done inside those enclosed areas...;)

It's not difficult to get around in the park. ;) I could see how an "out of towner" might have difficulty though. Next time you come, just get a novice guide to lead you around the park. :)
