SDC Lines

I'm probably going to go to SDC this June or July on a weekday of course. Are the lines for the rides usually long? What rides usually have the longest wait? What days of the week have the shortest waits? Is the park bad about running one train? I don't care about the shows, they sound boring to me...
Lines can be long, especially for the water rides during the hot part of July, but the park does a good job of  keeping the lines moving. If the forecast calls for hot and humid temps that day try to ride Buzzsaw Falls and Lost River of Ozarks early before the lines get real long. You can also beat the heat by going down to Gyser Gulch and let little kids blast you with the water cannons. Long line for Wildfire is not too bad as there is lots of neat artwork and inventions to look at while you wait and the queue is airconditioned.
How is SDC on a Friday?

Other than the Wilderness Waterboggan, I noticed NO long lines for ANY rides at SDC....even that would have been OK, except staffing prevented them from opening the second side....(it was really only worth one spin anyway, what with ALL the cool stuff there)...

As always, IMO, YMMV, etc.

Lines move rather quickly at SDC. Even the longer ones (such as Lost River) are pretty quick. Lines at CC are a different story. I was there last Saturday (both parks) and never had to wait over an hour at SDC, while some lines at CC were over an hour long. If you want to do both parks in one day - get to SDC at opening and ride everything you can, then as soon as it gets to be 3 go to CC and ride. SDC will start to empty out around 5 - 6 or so and that's when CC gets busy and everyone leaves CC after Celebrate! (laser show) is over.

Do not miss Lost River, no matter how long the line is, it is a wonderful raft ride with a little "suprize" towards the end. Also the flume ride there is better then most.

Summer 03-CP, HP, Canobie, SFNE, SFWOA, and SFGAm.

American Plunge (custom in house flume ride built by SDC itself) will get you soaked - for an added soaking, raise your hands up while hitting the splash down.

Also, try not to sit on the seat with the red dot on lost river.... dont think it doesn't mean anything... haha
Hey DH, the lines at CC were long? Wow, well in a way that's a good sign though. I dont think the park will shut down in 2 years :)

Yes, there were lines for EVERYTHING. The ferris wheel was almost a 45 minute wait, Fire Ball was pushing 30 minutes. The Tilt-a-whirl and Scrambler even had lines. This is really good news and I think that now the park will see that it definitely needs more attractions (not upcharge - those even had lines).

Exactly, I mean they have a lot of attractions, I just do not think they believed the park was going to be this popular. Does anyone have the SDC/CC attraction survey links?

....back seat on Buzzsaw Falls....wettest you can get on ANY flume/flume coaster....leaving the station, the back seats *almost* submerge....

Lines were GREAT for us at SDC, save for the Waterboggan. At CC, however, I'd recommend getting there close to park opening...;)

I can't believe I have been getting so lucky with the short lines at CC. Hooray for me I guess ;)

You get pretty wet in the front right seat as well on Buzzsaw Falls. If you want soaked on Waterworks Waterboggan, take the back seat and "swing" the boat up in the curves. American Plunge is really wet in the back. The best waterguns at Splash Harbor are at the very top of the BOAT, they can shoot at all three levels of the DOCK. One last thing - Lots of airtime in the back seats of Wildfire. :)

Bill - The survey links are on Screamscape.

You can't stress the amazingness of the airtime on the back seats of Wildfire... mmmm.. haha
So what do you guys want to see be built at CC next year?
I am thinking the Tall Icon Ride, it would add to the skyline of CC. Do you think they will add more than just one of the rides in survey? They really need more rides throughout the park. It is cramped. ;)

I think that the back parkinglot will be gone after this season. They will more than likely add another theatre, even if it's like Boatworks at SDC. I would imagine that we will see at least two-three more rides next year, and from the sounds of it - a possible return of Dragon Wagon, but it may be rethemed.

I've got one more question... how much is parking (or is it free)? Their website doesn't have anything about parking on it.

IIRC, there was no charge for parking anywhere in Branson....I am positive CC was free, and that was odd considering the parking lot configuration....*pretty sure* SDC parking was free, and the tram drivers will insult you for free too...;)
I'm thinking HFEC is well aware of what CC needs more of (rides, restaraunt, theaters and restrooms) and the growing pains the park is experiencing. Would not be surprised to see some construction starting soon.

Yesterday at the park. Everywhere you looked there were surveyors (sp?) from Focus One. But they never ask they younger folks. It's always families! haha.

Hey Jim, Im going to be down there on Saturday, will you be working?

I'll be working on the coaster all the live long day.
