Scream's station heads up while Thrill Shot heads down at Magic Mountain

Magic Mountain's Scream is nearly complete with only weeks to go before a scheduled opening date. The station has started to take shape and work in surrounding areas continues.

Thrill Shot has been partially taken down for the modifications. Structural work has been performed on what is left of the three towers. The new towers should be shorter, essentially converting the ride from the old Absolutely Insane model to the new Sky Sling.

Will the new Thrill Shot be as good? I never go a chance on the old Thrill Shot.

I hope it's open on the 11th? Anybody heard any rumors to that effect? I wanted to wait until the weekend after it opened, but I have a friend coming to town who wants to go.

Nope. Opening day is on the 12th with Media Day on the 10th and PR day on the 3rd.

I HIGHLY doubt it seeing how the new restraint system looks and works. Half the fun and thirll of the old system was just how small it was and how much freedom you had.

I got to see Thrill Shot on my two recent trips to SoCal, but it wasn't operating either time...no AI's for the gator....well, unless you count Allen Iverson...;)

I live so close to sfmm I can ride my bike there! (I like to go there after school, almost sick of X) I think scream will come and go just like X and Da javu did. Scream looks pretty good but its thrown in the parking lot! I doubt its going to open on the 11th. I don know but has there been a line added yet?
