Screaming Swing at Wild Adventures, Valdosta Georgia

Per their website in the rides section "Beware The Gauntlet coming soon to dare the courageous! Accept the challenge of this screaming swing ride as you are hauled more than 6 stories up and swung to and fro. The Gauntlet will be looking for the brave hearted starting this spring."

Has anyone seen these before? Does anyone know of any good pictures/videos of them?

Thanks.

www.flatrides.com it's an S&S screaming swing....probably an up-charged ride....hope this helps.
It will not be an upcharge attraction at Wild Adventures. There will be two Screamin' Swings right next to each other, free to paying guests.

Stop looking at the ride!

When you say 2 screamin swings, you mean 2 seperate structures with 4 swings total?

Any idea on how many people it will hold? Flat rides.com says S&S makes them from 4 to 40 people.

Thanks for the link and the information :)

I'm not sure. All I know is that there are two of them with enough capacity to not charge for rides.

Yes.

Wouldn't it be neat if the folks at the Stratosphere bought some of the Screaming Swings and put them up there?

OMG, I am so game for that!!!

LMAO....two structures, EIGHT seats total. I got the WA thingy in the mail yesterday. It said "The Gauntlet" but didn't *explain* any further. The picture of the ride made me think it was S&S's SS (LOL!).

The reason that parks like Knotts HAVE to up-charge is due to low capacity. The 40-passenger version that's already been sold to a few parks certainly eliminates THAT issue..;)

bill, really enjoyed the SS, but WAY prefers a good SWAT! :)

you and your SWAT's Bill!!! LOL!!

John that was hilarious, but I know Bill, he likes his SWAT's....and he can take that way whatever he wants, LMAO!!!

Hell yeah! As long as they don't close them down when the winds reach 25 mph. :-)

Why would a park buy two 8-seaters instead of one 32-seater? It would have to be cheaper to buy the one ride instead of two even though the two are smaller, and the capacity would be better.

(Of course, it's better for me since my company will still be the only in America with the 32-seat models. :) ) *** Edited 3/25/2005 9:30:50 PM UTC by kpjb***

kpjb, I mis-spoke when I said "two structures"....two four-seat SWINGS is what I should have said...eight total seats between the two *ride mechanisms*, both on the one support structure. That's my thinking, not FACT....yet. Knotts has that set-up, there's two seats facing either direction *per swing*, and two swings mounted on the one structure. That would explain why NOT to purchase the 32-seat model...plus the fact that WA doesn't need THAT much capacity...

I'll try and get the exact specs tomorrow when I head up to WA, but I'd be VERY surprised if their set-up differed from Knotts' at all.

Oh, okay... I thought there were to be two identical rides next to each other.

Our 32-seater is two 16-seat swings on the same structure.
