Scream testing at Six Flags Magic Mountain

Posted | Contributed by xbombman

Testing is underway on Six Flags Magic Mountain's Scream, the park's new B&M floorless. Station work is nearly complete and the ride is expected to debut on April 12.

Walls have been erected around Scrambler, which has been closed for over a year. Thrill Shot's modification continues.

Over at Knott's Berry Farm, Xcelerator's new crossbeam has been installed.

Neat-O. I want a Scream near me!

Now can we just have one construction update and news submission where someone doesn't use the words "continues to progress?" I'm sick of seeing that.

Those colors really lend themselves to great night shots. :)

I'm floored by the speed of their process on this ride. Wow, good going Six Flags.

Jeff: You do, but I'm guessin' you won't go in the park to ride it.

Wow! Great night shots...very "calendar-worthy"....hmmmmm.

Relater observation/question: Scrambler is gone, or undergoing renovation? I can't believe they are losing yet another flat ride. If Scramber has been removed it reduces the number of flats to a lowly SEVEN! WTF are they thinking?

No chance, Jes. I've been on Medusa, and it blows away the ride in our backyard. No contest. Scream, being a mirror of Medusa, I don't doubt will equal the performance.

The ride is un-repairable. A part that went missing or broken cannot be replaced.

Thanks, Churro, for the skinny on Scrambler. I hope a flat ride package comes soon...they desperately need it.

But can *any* of SFMM's outdated flats be replaced? That's the real question. It's a disgrace that this park has so little for non-coaster riders to do.

People complain about clones, yet can't even come up with original conversation, which is ten times worse.

Could even be better with the improved technology since '99.

Using the words "continues to progress" is tradition.

Yeah, not all traditions are good, and most get OLD! ;)
They could really use something like a Huss Giant Top Spin over there, it would be like hammerhead at Knotts only BIGGER....

or they could just put more rides in the parking lot

Anybody look at that station?...i dont know what they were thinking. It looks like an awening from a picnic place in a state park. I think they should have put a little more time into the station. The ride looks great, But you wont see me on it anytime soon. SFgadv is only and hour away from my house. Medusa is a great ride and not as compact as scream.
Hm... very quick-to-build ride... so quick they didn't even have time to remove the white strips marking the parking areas on the parking lot it was built on.
:o)
Anyway.
I love B&M so whatever.
i wouldn't be so excited about it if you rode medusa you've rode scream take a look

Well, it has. The Colours are faster then they were in '99.
