If there's one thing SFMM needs, it's more loops!

Are you joking? That's the last thing they need (although more is still a good thing). Magic Mountain is in the lead with the most coaster inversions in any one park.

Maybe SFMM should have built the tallest and fastest floorless roller coaster in the world to make it stand out. SFMM is known for breaking records like they did with Riddler's Revenge, S:TE, and to some extent Goliath.
I still don't see anything special about the zero-g roll... it is just a zero-g roll. Sure the element pulls laterals and a little air, but it is far from my favorite element. In fact... it is just another element, this coaster is 100% about the second half.

We're back...

"To an enthusiast Scream's not a new type of roller coaster. To the gal and guy who visit amusement parks once in a great moon...That Floorless coaster's a brand new concept"!

But you have to understand Jason, nothing at an amusement park matters unless a nerdy enthusiast thinks it's cool. What the "GP" thinks matters about as much as the "peeps" from RCT.

Come on guys, the ride just opened a week ago, school isn't even out yet.

I dunno if you've tried this yet, but if sit in one of the middle seats of row six. It may change your opinion of the zero-g.

Sheesh. It's a clone. Deal. Haven't we been through the clone v. custom line of thought a bajillion million quintillion one times.? Magic Mountian *should* have done exactly what they did because it's their park and they know better than you what is the best investment for their park.

huh
i don't think that SFMM needs anymore loop. if anything they need an intamin plug 'n play, around 215 feet. that would have helped with their coaster variety a lot. they only have psyclone and colossus as wooden coasters. one more would be good. if not a plug n play then a GCI like lightning racer

I am one.
I am Turbo.

Doesn't it seem like every park these days needs a good ol woodie.
Kraken, Batman - The Dark Knight, and Batman Knight Flight were better than Scream! I didn't see anything too special about the zero g roll and I have been on better. Kraken does a good job with it. Scream was not anything special. I do have to give it credit for looking good as a "lot coaster." I think that Magic Mountain should have built a really good launched/LIM/LSM coaster, a good woddie with a loop, or a more original B&M Flying coaster. That is just my opinion though. I have been on all mentioned. It may be because I'm partial but I don't know. It's my opinion.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda...

The genarl publics opinions do have significance and validity since they are the ones keeping the parks in business. Us, the enthusiasts(the minority) only make up a small fraction of a parks attendence.

Well... to answer NickNickNick's questions...

How are dispatch times? We usually dispatch a train when another gets to the helix.

What have the lines been like? The line has not gone over an hour and 15 minutes. The line was about 40 minutes yesterday. Pretty darn good for a Saturday.

Is there positive response to the ride from the people at the park? Generally, yes.

And also, how is the ride holding up so far? We had our first real breakdown on friday. It went down for the same error 7 times until maintenence got smart and fixed the broke proxy on the service brake run. We also had our first evacuation yesterday evening. The ride just stopped... Scream! is also a lot smoother than it was just a couple of weeks ago.

Xperience The Xtreme

I take it that SFMM is no longer assigning seats for Scream? I'm assuming that that was an opening day thing, but it pretty much prevented me from getting a front row spot. I'll be going next Sat., though, so hopefully I'll get to experience the floorless part for myself. As was said earlier, other rows just seem like a sit-down Riddler's, in a way. Albeit, a MUCH more comfortable Riddler's.
I was there a few days ago, and they aren't assigning seats so you can wait for whatever row you want. However, you can add another poorly designed station to the list(Goliath, Batman, X), where you got the people waiting for the front row blocking the view of the other rows, causing a jam up, and making the wait just that much longer.

So far, not a huge problem because as others have mentioned, the wait for Scream has been minimal. But several times I had to tell people that it was ok to move up into the other rows.
