Scream builds out quickly at Magic Mountain

Posted Monday, March 3, 2003 3:38 AM | Contributed by Matthew

Nothing stops the Scream construction workers as more and more of the course is completed. In the past week alone, the diving loop and camelback heartline was built, and the cobra roll was started.

It's great seeing a non-inverted zero-G roll at SFMM. I am looking forward to this coaster! Construction really seems to be coming along. Hopefully it'll open by early April, when I may visit.

I really like the sequence on this ride, as well as its compact layout. Looks like a winner!

Not trying to start a debate/arguement but......don't, you think its surprising that CP hasn't went for another B&M?..... I mean both of their current B&M's ( raptor-inverted and mantis-stand up) have been very successful and have had near flawless lifes. oh well just a thought

That succession of diving loop, zero-g roll, cobra roll looks simply awesome.

I don't know why, but I'm kind of anti Six Flags for some part. But lately i've really started liking them a lot more. And this floorless looks crazy. Plus point for Six Flags in my book.......

SFMM goes with constant B&M's (or Giovanola for a year) and CP goes with Intamin, it's all what brings in the guests...

Looks like a great ride, and the colors are sweet. Something about the angle of the picture, because the dive loop - zero g - cobra roll sequence looks totally awesome.

I agree with Jeff. The sequencing/pacing looks like it will be great. My only B&M complaint is that I find on many of their coasters that the inversions don't seem to flow. I still get queazy on Hulk, the only coaster that has ever happened to me on. I think Mantis could have been a bit better too.

The warehousing on the left looks kind of ugly. Hope they do something about that but I don't know what they can do.

FYI, opening day is scheduled for April 10th.

If you look closely you'll see some awesome chopper effects from quite a few of the supports. Looks fun ;)

You won't see me there, jf...the media preview event is on a weekday and I have to work. I'll be taking my first ride that weekend.

Why is everyone saying how compact and stuff it is, and how the elements are great, when its Medusa mirrored so far, with some minor changes. Am I missing something?

Does the fact that it's a cloned ride make it any less of a great experience to ride?
