Schwabichen......Where did the lady go?

My trips to Cedar Point would not be complete without a ride on Schwabichen. Schwabichen was and always will be my favorite flat that CP had. Once my niece and I went to the point on a very rainy day. Most of the big rides were closed. My niece and I rode the Schwabichen at least 20 times in a row. One of the best times I had at the park. This ride always seemed to bring out the fun and even bizarre behavior from it's riders. Pehaps it was the fact that Schwabichen was a themed trabant style ride featuring a german beer maid. You would board the ride and sit around the circumference of the bar maid's dress. like a wedding cake topper stood this eight foot bar maid with dark hair a revealing tight red top and a crazy hat. The figurine would twirl as if she was dancing. The back drop featured an Octorberfest like mural with happpy drunks gothic like witches and dancing balloons. When riding, people always laughed at the ride, sang silly chants or just giggled collectively. It was a fun and strange culture that surrounded this ride. The feeling of slap stick Schwabichen evoked truely needs to be experienced. I'm sad that Schwabichen is gone. It was truely a gem in CP's lineup.
Wait a few years, then go down to Strickers Grove. They should have it refurbished and up and running by then.

"The Lady" was featured in the CP ride Graveyard at Halloweekends last year. She was dressed in black and had a veil. Very, very Sexy.
Shes in top of the Barn at Strickers Grove.

The trailler with the main drive is behind the hall and the rest of the ride is on flatbeds in the parkinglot.

They did move some rides around at Strcikers, When it opens, I expect it to be in the area between Tornado and Teddybear.

The Schwabinchen is a very nice Mack Hully Gully! I know, there were two Schwabinchen-versions. The one which was in the Cedar Point and the one, which travelled in Germany (showman Distel)

Here you find many photos of the cedarpoint one:

Maybe they took it out because of family values:) I mean come on, you have this woman with big breasts surrounded by a bunch of smiling phallic symbols.
Eurgh, phallic churches! What were those christians in the 16th century thinking?!

Here is the blueprint for the Schwabinchen backdrop:
