Schlitterbahn delays opening of huge slide for media, citing conveyor issues

A problem with the raft conveyor system for Verrückt has forced officials to cancel news media rides on Thursday and Friday, said Schlitterbahn spokeswoman Winter Prosapio. As of Wednesday afternoon, it was unclear whether the world-record-setting ride would open to the public on Sunday as had been announced, she said. Equipment was flown in for the conveyor system, but the repair team will not be able to cycle through enough tests for the ride to be ready for media preview days Thursday and Friday.

No mention of the raft flying off the slide at the top of the airtime hill on the test-run, huh? ;~)

Yeah, I noticed that the second hill appears to have been redesigned, although I haven't seen any before and after pictures to be certain.

I give them a pass because they're not Six Flags. ;)

But not a complete pass, because they're also not Knoebels.
