Scenic Railway@SFGAm leaving or staying

It's not going anywhere. Look at parks like SFStL and their steam train. That locomotive is FAR more expensive to run and maintain than the trains at SFGAm, and they still run it.

SF (and I am talking about post-Premeir buyout from TW) has done a DECENT (not great) job of keeping themeing up to par. But that only goes as far as the parks that had it prior to the buyout. Any parks that were built or massivley updated didn't fare as well.

I don't know about that... Here at Great America, we had one of the best themed expansions ever under the old Six Flags. Since Premier came, we've seen the destruction of what was left of Yankee Harbour, and now there's a good chance half or Orleans Place will be wiped out by Superman. I don't fear for the railroad, but I do fear for our themeing.

I hear America screaming...

Premier proved they didn't give a crud about the themeing at SFGAm when they ripped out 2 All American classic rides (Sky Whirl and Hay baler) and replaced them with a French named coaster that would have fit perfect with the theming of Orleans Place!

The Demon He's gonna getchya!

Yeah, thats what I said SF GreatAmerican. The old Six Flags "rocked the theming house" while the current Six Flags (Premier) has sucked on any new theming that has gone up, but have done a DECENT but not great job of upkeep.
The cable skyways at St Louis and Magic Mountain (i don't think Magic Mt was Six Flags at the time) both lost a car off the cable. The one at St Louis happened in '78 (i was off on the years) and killed 3 people. I can't find the exact year the one at Magic Mt happened. I think it killed one. I believe there was also a similar accident at a fair in TX. This is about the time when the mass removal of that ride began at most parks.

It is not going anywhere any time soon. All that would do is hurt the park finacially(sp?). Guys, stop whining about SF theming... it's all about the money. Are they really going to lose --number of dollars-- just so they can please a very small population of coaster fanatics like us? The answer is no.

Don't Fight It, Ride It, RAGING BULL!!!!!!- Six Flags Great America
sfgamnut9302, I thought about that too. Why would the park use a french name in County Fair when it would fit better into Orlean's Place? I guess this proves that themeing is out. If ever add something into Southwest Territory without a southwest name or themed to the southwest, I'll be a little pissed.
What, they dont have county fairs in "Creole Country"? I guess everything "County Fair" has to be "Wonder Bread: red white and blue? Has anyone *been* to a county fair in the last ten years? I guess you all would think "Pharoh's Fury" and the UFO-like "Gravitron" are way out of place. Ooh, what about the Japanese name "Kamikazee". NOPE, has not place in a "County Fair". (dying for a rolleyes thingy)

lata, jeremy

--who actually *would* have prefered to see Superman and Deja Vu switch spots; think visually and themeing wise it would have been a better fit...
