Scenario Editor:PLease Explain

I don't get it. What does this enable you to do. PLease descirbe in understandable detail.
You create your own setting. If you ever played sim city 2000 or 3000 its similair, you create were you want water, hills, or land.

So no actual objectives that you have to complete?

One key difference is that you get to set the objectives. The scenario can then be played like the ones that came in the classic game.

Wouldn't having that option kind of defeat the whole purpose of having the game based on scenarios in the first place? Still it is a much better system than the original where you ended up stuck on one of the more difficult scenarios and therefore couldn't progress any further through the game.
In the scenario editor you get to make your map to every detail. If you widh you can make objectives that you can try to accomplish. This will allow real park recreations to be made very easily.

But will old parks import into the editor?

That will be a BIG question, will RCT I parks be able to be loaded into RCT II, (even if there were a one-shot only save game converter, you know input the RCTI save game, and the equivilant RCTII save game file would be output.

About the editor, its a way to make and trade custom scenario files, or its a slick way of saying "I'm not going to give you the fish, but I'm going to teach you to fish" AKA he won't spoil the game by putting in a ready made sandbox, but if thats what you want to do, you will have the tools at your disposal to create one.

Personally I ran accorss a save game editor for RCTI that allows lots of the same things a scenario editor will do, with the benefit that it merely edits your save game file instead of tampering with volatile memory while the game is running. This editor allows you to change the scenario goals, and set the various scenario flags (like turning money off :) ), and set the flags that tell the game what objects you have available to you and loads more.

Games like "StarCraft" and "WarCraft II" and others have always had scenereo editors, where people could create new levels to play. This, in no way, detracted from the scenereos included with the game itself. In fact, it only enhances replayability.
