Advanced tickets for the Shanghai Disney Resort went on sale Monday. Standard prices are 499 yuan ($77) for peak times and 370 yuan ($57) for other periods. But scalpers on Taobao, one of Alibaba's online shopping platforms, were asking as much as eight times face value for some tickets.

Speaking as a lifelong enthusiast, I can't imagine why anyone would want to go to the opening day of a new Disney park.
I went to HKDL in its first week, purely by accident, and it was a nightmare.
I develop Retro Games for Mac when not riding coasters.
I love me some Disney (and Universal) but, yeah, the park would have to be paying me serious money to step in the gates on opening day.
