SBNO Parks ever reopened?

Has a park ever gone SBNO and then reopened? I know about Coney Island (Ohio) and Arnolds Park. Are there any others? I heard someone say that Geauga Lake went SBNO for a while. Any truth to that?

Thanks!

I pray that I will never see a Six Flags Conneaut Lake

Geauga Lake never closed though prior to the Premeir Parks purchase, attendance had dwindled quite a bit.

To answer your question, Kentucky Kingdom originally opened in 1987, had a disasterous first year and closed.  It was reincarnated a few years later under new owers.

Just recently Magic Springs was brought back to life after being closed a few years.

Although it doesn't count as a complete park, the Giant Dipper in San Diego CA reopened in the early nineties, from the ashes of Belmont Park.  I think the place is still officially referred to as Belmont Park, although I don't believe there is much more than the coaster and a few kiddie rides.  Hunt's Pier in Wildwood was reborn in 1996 (I think) as Dinosaur Beach after quite a few years of not opening/opening with a few portable flat rides... now the pier is probably going to reopen once again in the near future as it is owned by Morey's Piers now.  I'm sure there are plenty of other amusement centers along the NJ shore that have been closed and reopened, although none are coming to mind.  Speaking of the shore, don't forget Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach SC, that park is home to the Swamp Fox coaster, which was left behind when the park that it called home closed and was incorporated into the new/reborn park in the early nineties.

Let's hope that we will soon be able to add Americana and Whalom Parks to the list soon!

Rocky Springs park in Lancaster, PA. Originally opened sometime in the 1890's but was closed in the 1960's and reopened in the late 1970's only to be closed down again a short time later in 1981.

Luna Park Sydney opened in 1935. It closed in 1979 due to an accident on the ghost train which caught fire & killed 7 people. Reopened in 1995 after being totally upgraded & the Big Dipper (Arrow Junior Hyper Looper) built only to face noise complaints against the coaster itself. It opened during limited hours until 1997 (not sure.) A few weeks ago the Dipper was removed entirely & transported to Dreamworld :(. The park will reopen in late 2002 with a new theme based on the circus. That's what it says on their site.

BTW ideas were tossed around for replacing the Dipper. One was an indoor ski slope! Would've been fun. :)

Didn't KennyWood close down for a year, but opened up later?
