There used to be a lot of Santa's Villages. I visited the one in the San Bernrdino Mountains when I was a tyke. I passed the one in Scott's Valley on the way to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk countless times when I was a bit older...but by that time, I would have cried if we had stopped there instead of continuing on to the Boardwalk (where everybody has a good time).

I honestly hope the pending sale of the park and property end up in the hands of one company....Maybe the likes of Holiday World looking to add another park would be capable of handling a park like this one. Not saying they are in negotiations....one can only dream though!
I have to say, I have been expecting this for a while. I have been hearing for years about the impending doom of SV (I live 2 miles away by road and just 1 mile away straight-line).

I was there last summer for RedGirl's first coaster credit and I could have "pulled a Cheney" and shot off a shotgun and wouldn't have hit anyone...and that was at noon on a "cool" Saturday in July.

Part of their downfall is that the park looks soooo dated...people are into nostalgia, but people aren't into "OLD". The park looks "OLD" and I don't mean that in a good way.

ITS A DUMP...
I have to agree with IGMAN.

The place has really takin a turn for the worse as far as upkeep, etc.

According to an article a couple years back. The sale from Harris Bank who owned the property to this new owner meant the possibility of 2007 being the final year as an amusement park as the land is worth more than the park it sits on.

I would be sad to see it close but at the same time it wouldn't surprise me.

yes you guys are right the park is very run down the last time i was there was in 2004 and the ride i was on with my little one was rusted in the middle and the train operated that look no more than 16 stated the train derailed but may be the article at the top of the page could be right that so one will by santa village and rebulid the park is one of the many that has history of every one
