Santas lodge question?

Has anyone stayed at the "santas lodge" near holiday world? If so, how are the rooms and the rest of the hotel?

I looked at the web site for the hotel to get a view of what the rooms look like, but the picture is really small.

We have reservations for the holiwood nights.

Any info would be great....thanks.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I have stayed there. The rooms are decent. Not horrible but not luxury. I am staying there for Holiwood Nights as well. I had stayed there for Stark Raven Mad when it was the event at Holiday World. The pool area is nice. The restaurant/bar is pretty good. The service was decent. I would probably give it about 3 or 3.5 stars out of 4 personally. The price is a bit steep but the convenience to Holiday World to me far outweighs the price.

Having also stayed there in the past I would have to agree with beast on all points. Convenience is the biggest perk there though. They also have a breakfast buffet there, (though remember, we get breakfast Sat. morning from 9am - 11am).

I'm planning on going to Holiwood Nights and was wondering where there is any affordable lodging close to the park. I'd like to keep it in the $50-75 a night range if possible.
You can check the Motel 6 in Dale, Indiana for one. It's where we are staying, and the cost, at least when we reserved in February was $49.99 per night for two queen beds.

The hotel is a newer Motel 6, maybe only 4-5 years old. We've stayed there before a couple of times and have always been happy. It's approx. 8-10 minutes from the park.

The only problem may be that vacancy may be all gone. At that price, plus the proximity to the park it's been a popular choice.

Santa's Lodge is pretty nice. The rooms are comfortable and clean, if not The Ritz. I've stayed there every time I've been to Holiday World, and I'll be staying there again this year.

The Motel 6 has been full for a while now. Probably everything close to the park is full by now. You moght have to go a little further out. There's a decent Super 8 in Corydon that I've stayed at in the past for around $60. That's at least 20 miles from Holiday World though.

It's Memorial Day weekend. These places probably have been booked for a while.

Check tripadvisor.com. The biggest complaint seems to be the NOISE from the millions of kids running around.

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Tell City, Ind., twice - but I don't recommend it. Both times they screwed up our reservations - the second time, we ended up four people in a two-person room because of it. And they made no efforts to help us out, either.

As far as the kid "NOISE" ... if you are staying at Santas Lodge for an event at Holiday World - you won't be in your hotel enough anyway. We stayed there last year for the Fall Affair and liked the place a lot and had no complaints. We are staying there again for HoliWood Nights. The rates are a little high, but it is Memorial Weekend. I do not know if they have any rooms left though at this point.

The wife and I also stayed at Santa's Lodge for the Fall Affair. It was OK. The room was nice and clean, and the people were nice.

We only had two complaints:

1.) If you are going to have Christmas decorations up all year long, be sure to dust them occasionally! :)

2.) The creepy old lady singing karaoke in a near empty bar after ERT for Fall Affair. With all of the Christmas decor, it looked like a scene straight out of Twilight Zone. :)

Just thought I would let everyone know that there are still rooms open at Santa's Lodge for Holiwood Nights at $89.99/night.
