Santa Cruz County’s declining coronavirus numbers placed it in the less restrictive orange tier of the state’s reopening guidelines Tuesday, meaning the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk can reopen for up to 500 people.

It's sort of interesting in that the Boardwalk itself and many of the vendors have been open the whole time. We go to the beach there every few weeks to just get out of the house. I wonder if the idea of keeping it closed was that rides would attract a lot more people from much farther away. Too bad the weather just turned "winter" here in the NorCal (there was actually frost on the ground this morning. <gasp>)

Well, many of the vendors were already allowed to be open way before the guidelines were even announced. Remember there was limited capacity for retail & restaurants back in the summer?

A friend of mine was a Director out there up until about 4 days ago when he left to go run a boardwalk in Ocean City. I never got the chance to visit the place while he was there.
