Sandusky sees budget surplus as Cedar Point has better year

Sandusky's budget experienced a scary good run this summer, thanks largely to Cedar Point’s Halloweekends. Through Oct. 19, the city is looking at a $200,000 to $500,000 surplus, following a surge in tourism dollars. City leaders budgeted for a major decrease in tourism because of a struggling economy.

Is Cedar Point still paying over 99% of Sandusky's parking taxes? I wonder how much that contributes to the city's increase in tourism dollars. Or is that not factored in?

I know of federal and state estate taxes, but this is the first time I have ever heard of a city estate tax. Que "The More You Know" logo.
