Sandbox?

Is there a sandbox in RCT3? If there is is it fun? Also are there strat-coasters in RCT3?

Yes.

As fun as Sandbox mode can be.

Yes.

The sandbox is a good way to get used to the new 3d design elements. It's helpful when it comes to buidling stuf and seeing how the peeps react to them.
so far, i haven't had any problems at all w/SB mode. it is fun.

On the topic of Strata Coasters. Does anyone else think they could have made a much more realistic launch by putting a catch car, similar to the one on the cable lift systems on the giga coasters, on the launch track and make it work like Intamin rockets? I always thought the cable lift in RCT2 was the coolest feature on the roller coasters, since it was very realistic. *** Edited 12/11/2004 2:54:06 AM UTC by gomez***
It doesn't seem like the developers of RCT2 or RCT3 like launch tracks, as we've had nothing but station launches since the second edition of the game came out. Could they make a more realistic launch? Sure, but I think they're (hopefully) more concerned about the game's bigger bugs at the moment. It would be neat to see realistic launch tracks implemented in the game; perhaps they'll get cranking on things like that once more important things are taken care of.
I'm wondering if they're worried about possible legal action if they made things too close to real companies' intellectual property (train/track designs).

That was one thing that I was a little disappointed to see in RCT3 - they seem to have taken the existing coaster technologies and generalized them a bit to make it less like a specific company's design.

Perhaps it's just a 3D rendering thing, but still. :)

I know what you mean, in the RCT2 they acutally looked more realistic...or is it just me? Hell...they should of just made them look better!
