San Antonio Amusements

Next week I'm going down to San Antonio to visit my family. Are there any other amusement parks down there besides Fiesta Texas (I also can't wait to go to Schlitterbahn[God knows how to spell that])? How are lines there this type of year for either park. And do you have any other advice?

Don't you think he knows, you know, he knows, you know, you know? Or not. I'll be under a rock if you need me.

I believe there is a sea world donwn there. They have two roller coasters and water rides.
Sea World is about 15 miles down the road (loop 1604) from Fiesta Texas and has a B&M Invert (Great White) and Morgan 150' out and back (Steel Eel).

Lines at Schlitterbahn are gonna be long no matter what day you go, Fiesta Texas generally has the longest lines on Sat and Sun and the weekdays will vary quite a bit. Sea World rarely has a wait for either of the coasters, even if the parking lot is packed.

If you go Sunday morning (to Fiesta Texas) the lines won't be that long, especially if the weather is threatening rain as it just might be. I went there on a Sunday morning last year, and virtually all the rides were walk-ons, or short 10 minute waits.

I was at SFFT on 6/4 and SW on 6/5 and never waited more than 2 trains for front seats, almost every ride was a walk on in the middle rows.

Steel Eel was amazing. I didn't expect much out of it but man was I suprised . It may be only 150 ft, but it had air everywhere. I floated out of my seat on the 1st hill, then was impaled on the lap bar at the very bottom. The 2nd hill launched me into the valley of the following camel-back. I swear, on the 3 bunnies at the end, we didn't hit our seat until the train came up the other side.

I'm surprised that this coaster doesn't get more recognition. Maybe because it's in an animal park, and most enthusiast wouldn't go there? I'm relatively new (49 coasters) can someone with more experience make a comparison to the better known rides?
