Rye Playland latest to go smoke-free

It will be a breath of fresh air – literally – when visitors enter Playland Amusement Park on Opening Day, this Saturday, May 12. That’s because the entire amusement area has now been designated as no-smoking.

I was at the park during the May Fair on May 5th (technically opening day - Most rides/entertainment were open) and I do not remember seeing any smoke free signs in the park. I did however see a designated smoking area along the seaside walk. I say this is a good deal for everyone, no smoke to inhale in the park and a nice location with a view of the long island sound to smoke if that's your thing.

That sounds exactly like the spot I sat down and enjoyed a spliff back in '05. What a great view...one of my fav spots on the entire planet!
